Using the latest version of PP (25.3.0) I was working on a project containing MTS video files, and all of a sudden the next day I opened up the project, and all of the audio tracks of the clips had max volume static (and nothing else). It had been working for several days. In the audio track timeline, it displays as just a solid bar, rather than a typical bar with variying levels as you'd expect (see attached). It is like this in the editor, and also if you export the video.

I messed with this for hours, including contacting Adobe Support Chat for about an hour. They weren't able to help. They left me with suggesting that I make sure all of my Windows updates were in place. I did that and still nothing. I messed with my video card drivers - making sure they were on the latest version, etc. I downloaded the AC3/AC4 codecs from the other Adobe post talking about MTS files not working in the latest version of Windows - that didn't help. I also have cleared cache several times, and I tried re-insatlling the latest version of PP.

If you open the files by themselves in Windows, they are fine. The audio is normal. They work fine in MS Clipchamp. They also work fine an older version of Premiere Pro that I downloaded (24.6.5). So, theoretically, I could start over and do this in 24.6.5, but I'd prefer to continue working in the latest version. I'm sure this is codec related or something, but I have hit a brick wall.

Has anyone else had this specific issue, and have you found a solution? Thanks

Is this fixed?   Looks like it might be in the beta.  Just loaded an M2TS and it worked.  (25.6.0 build17)

Tried it in shipping version  (25.3.0 build 84) and playback fails.

The Premiere Pro Beta 25.0 it is Ok for the .MTS file , so now we have to wait ...ASAP...the upgrade by Adobe.

Thanks

All users should check out the public beta version. We'd get better releases if they did!

You simply go to the Beta apps tab of the Creative Cloud desktop app, and select the Premiere Pro public beta, and install it like any other CC app.

It installs separately from the current release. And so can be used without causing problems.

First project in a while using MTS files from a client and all audio (which was recorded at a low level) are blown out when imported into PP25 newest version. They work like fine in Beta. I uninstalled 25 and went back to a 24 version and they work - allowing me to edit for now.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Thanks for moving it. Agree, not easy to navigate. Would be nice to know when issue is resolved.

I don't understand why there's no answer to the question of why people with 50 terabyte archives in AVCHD and then .MTS files can't use Premiere 2025 because of an audio problem. I'm a customer and would like to know if you can fix this issue. There are thousands of dollars involve in this problem, I use Apple M3 Max . Premiere 2024 hasn't had any issues. I've asked several times to speak to a technician but still haven't gotten a response. Thanks.

There are hundreds of threads on this here, many on the facebook Premiere group pages, Reddit, elsewhere.

Where the problem is acknowledged and discussed in detail. I don't want to repeat what has been said many times ...

Hi all,

This issue has now been fixed in the beta version of Premiere Pro and Media Encoder and the fix will be in the next released version of both applications.

While we don't usually recommend using beta versions for production work, customers might consider using the beta version of Media Encoder to transode MTS files into another format (e.g., ProRes) which will then play correctly in the current version of Premiere Pro.

Regards,

Fergus

all MTs files imported to adobe premiere will have the audio destorted meanwhile it is very good on every other software , why ?
