MEDIA DOES NOT DISPLAY ON THE TIMELINE ON WINDOWS SYSTEMS

On Windows, if a custom scale factor is set in System > Display, media does not display on the Premiere Pro timeline. We are working to fix this issue in an updated version of Premiere Pro. Two workarounds are available:

  1. In Windows, turn off custom scaling and use one of the standard scaling options, or
  2. In Premiere Pro, turn off GPU-accelerated UI rendering in Preferences > General.

In all my projects (old and newly created), the colored video clips and audio tracks are not displayed in the timeline. Only when I play the project for a few seconds or zoom into the project on the timeline do the tracks appear. Sometimes, however, not all but only one track appears. If I move the mouse over them, the clips disappear or appear for a short time. This makes it impossible to work with it at all!

I use a 2070 Super (Studio driver 565.90) with a Ryzen 3900X system and 64 GB Ram.

That shouldn't be the problem.

Best regards

yes, I have the same problem with the 2025 version, we still can't make videos because of the error.

Hi there,

I recently updated to v25, and I've tried the latest beta. Have reset all prefs, etc.

Fresh project, load a clip into the timeline and the clip isn't visible. There is video in the viewer and audio is there.  Interacting with the timeline (clicking where the clip should be, etc) makes the clip appear, but the clip(s) disappear as soon as I start playing, and often just randomly if I'm scrubbing around.

It doesn't seem to matter what format the clip is (.mov, .mp4, etc; 10 bit, 8 bit, whatever).

Any ideas?

Cheers!

This has only happened since the update. I'm on a very chunky Windows machine.
