Premiere 26.3 will only relink one proxy at a time, required rollback to 26.2.2

When connecting proxies to full resolution media, Premiere 26.3 will only connect one proxy at a time. It spends a lot of time as if trying to connect more than one file, but ultimately only attaches one. The only fix for this was to roll back to 26.2.2, which then worked for the same projects and the same media. This has happened since the release of 26.3, so I had to roll back almost immediately, but I tried updating Premiere again recently and had the same issue. The proxies are all in the same folder, I’m using media browser to attach files, and the ‘Relink others automatically’ box is checked in both instances.

Steps to reproduce in 26.2.2:

  1. Select a group of clips in the project panel and right click → proxy → attach proxies
  2. Attach the first clip by clicking ‘Attach’ and navigating to the location of your proxies using media browser
  3. That proxy is attached, but none of the rest are unless you do each individual file manually.

Hi everyone! Wanted to update about this issue as It appears there is a fix available to use in the Beta, so if you can, try updating to the latest Beta version v26.5 to see if your relinking issues clear.

Apologies on the wait and appreciate your patience on that.
    Hope this helps!

The update is MUCH appreciated. Is there a hint of a timeline on when it gets put into main channel release? It’s not a new feature.

Just another major oversight by a multi-billion dollar software company. How do you even let the newest version go out if you can't simply attach proxies on a Mac? Uninstall that newest version and go back to 26.2.2. Hopefully your project will open, and mine did. I'll be learning DaVinci in the fall. I'm done with this company.

So is there any update to this at all? Are they going to fix this? This is a huge problem. Rolling back to 26.2 is going to cause major hiccups with my most current projects. I've been wasting so much time trying to get this thing to work, and it's hard to believe that they're just leaving it like this. Any information on updates or what exactly to do if I have to revert?   Definitely the last year using Adobe of any sort. It just is enough already. So expensive and nothing seems to work.

@kerk37539432 Sorry for any trouble with that. I’m curious if you load your project into the latest Beta v26.5, does it behave better?

I’ll add it to the on-going report, may I also confirm which driver version and build you’re on?

    Appreciate it,
    Katie

    Hi @Tea Dog

Welcome to the Premiere forums! Thank you for this bug report and including the version of Premiere you’re having issues in, plus the one that is working presently. Out of curiosity, were you on Mac (what MacOS) or PC (Win11/10 and driver version/build) as I can add that to the report.

We are aware of this issue happening and the team’s currently investigating. You may also want to try out the 26.5 Beta latest update, but also sounds like it’s working in 26.2.2, so you can remain there for the meantime.

Sorry for any frustrations, and I will provide an update once I receive that.
Thanks for your time on reporting about this!
    Katie
