Premiere and ME freezes on export when interpret footage used to change interlacing flag

In older versions of Premiere, you could take a ProRes file which you knew was incorrectly flagged as interlaced or progressive, interpret the footage to the actual frame structure, and export to a new, correctly flagged ProRes file, WITHOUT re-encoding it.

On more recent versions, for some reason when exporting, the Premiere and ME completion time just rises to many times the duration of the material, making it unusable.
