Premiere and Media Encoder creating D:\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\LUTs on launch

A number of users on the U2U forums are having issues with Premiere or MediaEncoder creating a folder tree on their 😧 drive as follows ...

D:\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\LUTs

or

D:\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\LUTs\Technical

It first was noted by people with Onedrive or Dropbox, but now several others have popped in that do not have those sync apps and everytime Premiere or Me launch, the apps create the folder-tree and folders.

Delete the folders, launch Pr or Me, the folders are created again.

A bug of some kind perhaps.

I have the same problem which sent me searching for solutions which lead me to this forum. My LUTs files are being stored under my OneDrive even when I point all other app folder and temp folders to another (D:/) drive. I delete the LUTs folders from OneDrive and restart Adobe Premiere and it recreates the LUTs back-up in the cloud which makes the entire program a bit sluggish. This has been an ongoing issue in my PC configurations (home, work, etc.) for several months now, if not longer...

04-20-21 - Well, just a follow-up a year later from this initial post/comment as the problem still remains after several updates. It's quite disappointing when you're paying $60/mo for a software suite that can't be fixed or debugged in over a years' time from such an annoying little bug in the software... but here we are... still waiting...

Premiere and After Effects (and all the other Adobe products) got a major update, which I installed today. Not only that this bug is still present – now also After Effects creates this directory!

I have the same problem. On every launch of Premiere the folder "D:\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\LUTs\Technical" is created (folder is empty). All Adobe software is on drive C:. I never installed Dropbox, but I had OneDrive installed (never used it and uninstalled it before installing Adobe CC).

EDIT: Here 3 threads from the Adobe community concerning this topic (maybe there are useful information for the developers):

EDIT 2: I have the same problem on my second PC (laptop), which has the same software installed.

I have the same issue, syncing with my Onedrive. It only happens on my computer at work and not at home although I use the same exact setup.

I have the same issue when starting Premiere Pro. Please fix this ASAP. Disappointed it was not fixed in the latest release.

I am having the same exact issue since I installed the newest 2020 update of Premiere CC this week. My Documents folder is also on my D:/ drive, and Premiere creates the AppData folder each time it launches, after I delete it. Frustrating that it can't be pointed anywhere else.

I have exactly the same issue and it is absolutely a bug.
All other Adobe apps use %AppData% system variable to point to the correct folder.
I scanned the registry, but can't change it from there.
