Premiere blocking audio in sequence and acting very overworked/sluggish/unresponsive when accessing menus

Premiere began to block the audio waveforms/sound bar entering the sequence. I can place two clips with audio just fine and then every clip after does not have it’s linked audio appear in the sequence nor do clips in the project panel have their audio highlighted blue, though it plays the sound there.

Another issue going along with this is Premiere becomes very over worked/sluggish and unresponsive when accessing the menus.

I’m not sure if I’m explaining this properly, so I did a screen recording, which is attached.

    Hi @LB_0

Welcome to the Premiere Pro forums! We are glad to see you here. We need a few more details to try to help with the issue. Please see, How do I write a bug report?

Thanks for including a screen recording so far of what you’re experiencing. I noticed the patching for V1/A1, on the far left side of the track, only has V1 highlighted in blue, but A1 is not. The A1 patching shows up by the time you’re pulling in your third clip on the recording. If you could, try clicking on the far left A1 so it turns blue to see if that affects the other clips differently. Are you dragging the footage in from Explorer/Finder? What happens if you use the media browser and navigate to the footage files instead, import, and ensure your patching tracks are toggled on?

Also, when did the menu issue begin happening?
Sorry for the frustration and hope we can help soon!

    Appreciate your post,
    Katie
