Premiere Pro 24.5 UI is slow to update with proxies, cursors & tools not operating, hurting workflow

I'm finding 24.5 extremely buggy. Suddenly the program window is very slow to update while using proxies, compared to the fullres footage which is faster. My cursors stop updating after a few minutes of working: the tool highlight changes, but the cursor and action does not change, forcing a restart of the application. These are new problems introduced in 24.5. This is frustrating and is making all work take longer.

Hey @Kevin-Monahan - I just updated to 24.6 yesterday and so far so good! There definitely seems to be an improvement. Thanks!

Hello @Convergnt@spefferly@brettm18373522,

I'm checking back in with the thread. Has the 24.6 update made any difference? If not, what kind of media are you editing with? With a bit more info, I hope we can help.

Thanks,
Kevin

My Premiere is extremely slow as well. Just making a keyframe gives me the spinny wheel. I'm working with the most basic of footage. I'm on PP version 24.5 on a 3.2 GHz 16-Core Intel Xeon W on AMD Radeon Pro W5700X 16 GB 96 GB 2933 MHz DDR4 Mac Pro running on Sonoma 14.5
