Premiere Pro always crashes when I press the windows panel despite being on the most recent update

Every time I press the windows panel in premiere pro to change from editing to something else, premiere pro suddenly crashes and keeps loading for few minutes without resolving until I restart the app.
I have the 26.2.2 version and no new update is currently present.
