Premiere Pro does not restore open timeline tabs after reopening project

Hello Adobe Team,

I am facing an issue in Adobe Premiere Pro.

I work with multiple sequences in a single project. I keep many sequence tabs open in the Timeline panel. However, after saving the project, closing Premiere Pro, and reopening the project, the Timeline does not restore all the previously opened sequence tabs. Sometimes only a few tabs are restored, and their order also changes.

The sequences are still available in the Project panel, but I have to open them one by one again, which is very time-consuming.

I would like Premiere Pro to remember and restore all open Timeline sequence tabs exactly as they were before the project was closed.

This behavior started after updating Premiere Pro. Previously, all my open sequence tabs were restored correctly.

Please investigate this issue. Thank you.

    Hi @Saaransh Telhore

Welcome to the Premiere forums! In order to help troubleshoot, we do need a few more details to try to help like computer specs if Mac or Windows 11/10, what MacOS or if Windows then what driver version & build, also the version & build of Premiere with our bug report details.

Also wanted to confirm if you have this setting enabled in Preferences? “Restore open sequences when opening projects” the 2nd from last. See screenshot.

Sorry for any frustrations and hope to help!

    Hi Katie,

    Thank you for your response.

    Here are my system details:

    • Operating System: Windows 11
    • Premiere Pro Version: 24
    • RAM: 8gb

    Issue:
After saving and closing my project, Premiere Pro does not restore all previously opened Timeline sequence tabs. The sequences are still present in the Project panel, but I have to reopen them manually every time. Earlier, Premiere restored all my open sequence tabs correctly.

@Saaransh Telhore Thank you for that information. And confirming you have that preference set as well? Sounds like you might, if it indeed loaded them up correctly prior to updating.

Are you able to update Premiere to another more recent version than v24.#? I’m curious which exact version of 24 since you’ve already updated it once, if you go to Help > About Premiere Pro, it’ll show you the version and build you can relay.

What was the last working version and build of Premiere it did work in?
    Appreciate it,
    Katie
