Premiere Pro is actively costing my business money — constant freezes and broken workflows
Premiere Pro is actively costing my business money. This is unacceptable.
I am writing this after yet another completely destroyed work session.
In the last 35 minutes alone, Premiere froze around 12 times.
I work for roughly 40 seconds, then the application freezes for 40–60 seconds. Then I work again. Then it freezes again.
And no, this is not limited to one specific panel or one specific action.
It happens throughout normal editing.
The Properties panel is one of the areas where it happens frequently, but it is absolutely not the only one. Premiere simply keeps freezing during regular professional work.
This is not “slightly poor performance.”
This is not an occasional crash.
The software is currently becoming unusable for professional work.
I run a business.
I have clients waiting for deliverables.
Clients are calling, pushing, asking why things are delayed, and complaining because work is not being delivered at the pace it should be.
I have already been forced to work through the night trying to catch up because Premiere is destroying my productivity.
And the most absurd part is:
I am paying Adobe every month for this.
I am literally paying money for software that is causing me to lose money.
These freezing problems have continued across multiple Premiere 26 updates.
This has not been one bad release followed by a quick fix.
Update after update, the problem continues.
How is this acceptable in professional software?
Premiere is one of the longest-running professional NLEs on the market, yet right now it behaves like a beta application that was released an hour ago.
And the freezes are only one part of my frustration with Premiere.
There are basic workflow decisions in this software that I genuinely cannot understand.
For example:
Why can I select four clips and change Position, Scale, Rotation, or Opacity for all of them at once, but I cannot simply change their Blend Mode to Screen at the same time?
Why do I have to change one clip, copy it, open Paste Attributes, select the relevant attribute, and paste it to the other clips?
Why?
The clips are selected.
Premiere knows they are selected.
The exact same property exists on every one of them.
Just change the property on the selected clips.
Why is something this basic still missing?
Why, in 2026, can Warp Stabilizer and a speed change still not simply coexist on the same clip without forcing the editor to create a nested sequence?
Why should I have to restructure my timeline because Premiere cannot internally handle two completely normal editing operations together?
Why are so many simple editing actions surrounded by unnecessary workarounds?
Nest it.
Paste Attributes.
Render something first.
Do this before that.
Do not apply this after that.
Create another sequence.
At some point, these stop being “professional workflows” and start becoming design problems.
And now all of these workflow frustrations are combined with constant freezing during normal editing.
I genuinely want an answer from Adobe:
What is happening with Premiere Pro?
Not another generic troubleshooting checklist.
Not “clear your cache.”
Not “reset your preferences.”
Not another workaround explaining how I can perform a basic operation in six steps instead of one.
I want to know why professional editors are expected to tolerate this level of instability and workflow friction from software that we continuously pay for.
Right now, it genuinely feels like Adobe does not give a damn about the professionals whose businesses depend on Premiere.
The only reason I have not already started moving my entire editing team to another NLE is that we are currently overloaded with client work, and I cannot afford to stop production long enough to retrain everyone.
Think about how ridiculous that is:
The software is costing us productivity, but we are currently too busy dealing with the lost productivity to find the time to leave it.
The moment I have enough breathing room to properly test an alternative and train the team on it, I am seriously considering doing exactly that.
I do not want another workaround.
I do not want another explanation of how to work around Premiere.
I want Premiere Pro to work.
I am paying for a professional tool.
My business depends on it.
My employees depend on it.
My clients are waiting because of it.
Please start treating Premiere like professional software.
