Premiere Pro Transcript and Pause Detection fails to detect and remove pauses correctly across multiple versions. Tested with different videos and projects. Turkish language support is also missing in Transcript despite having a paid subscription.

Hello Adobe Support Team,

I am experiencing a persistent issue with the Transcript and Pause Detection features in Adobe Premiere Pro.

My workflow requires removing unnecessary pauses/silences from videos. For example, a 38-minute video should normally be reduced to approximately 6 minutes after removing long pauses. However, Premiere Pro is not detecting and removing pauses correctly, and the feature is not working as expected.

I have performed multiple tests to identify the cause of the problem:

  • I tested the feature on my current updated version of Premiere Pro, but the issue continued.

  • I also tested previous Premiere Pro versions to check whether the problem was caused by the latest update, but the issue remained.

  • I switched between the current version and an earlier version of Premiere Pro, but there was no difference in the behavior.

  • I tested the same workflow with a different video file to make sure the problem was not caused by a specific video, but the issue happened again.

  • I created a new project and repeated the process from the beginning, but Transcript and Pause Detection still did not work correctly.

  • I checked different project settings and repeated the process multiple times, but the result remained the same.

After testing different videos, different projects, and different Premiere Pro versions, it appears that the issue is not caused by my source files or project settings. The problem seems to be related to the Transcript/Pause Detection functionality itself.

This problem significantly affects my editing workflow because removing pauses is an essential part of my process. A feature that should save time is currently causing additional manual work.

I would also like to report another important limitation. Although I purchased a paid Adobe Premiere Pro subscription, the Transcript feature does not support the Turkish language. Turkish language support is still missing, which creates a major disadvantage for Turkish-speaking users who are paying customers. I believe Turkish should be added to the supported languages for Transcript as soon as possible.

Please investigate this issue and let me know if there is a solution, a known bug report, or a planned update that will fix Transcript/Pause Detection problems and add Turkish language support.

Thank you for your help.

Best regards,

@Thevera,

There are known issues regarding pause detection with a possible fix in the Beta.

I just tested PR 26.3.0 on Win11. I used a simple sample with silence of about 8 seconds. PR correctly identified the pause and deleted. What is the specific issue you are seeing? PR identifies a pause but gets the length wrong? Hover over the pause indication to see what length it says. Or it gets the length correct, but deletes the wrong length?
