Premiere Pro Transcription Issue with Nested Sequences – Missing Dialog / "[...]" Displayed

Hi Adobe Community,

I'm running into an issue with transcription in Premiere Pro (2025). I have two nested sequences, each with their own speaker, and each one has a full, proper transcription when viewed inside the nest.

However, when I bring those two nested sequences into a main sequence (where I edit them together), the transcript at the main sequence level does not properly display all the dialog. Instead, large sections of speech get condensed into a [...] placeholder — for example, one speaker talks for 30 seconds, but all that's shown is [...] without the actual words.

Has anyone else had this issue?
Is there a way to have the full transcription from nested sequences show properly at the edit level without having to re-transcribe everything?

Thanks so much for any help or tips!

@middlekid,

There are 2 ways to get this that are "by design."

1 - If, in the main sequence, you have deleted parts of the nested sequence, this is to be expected. The transcript you see in Program Monitor view is the net effect of your edits. Deletions remove that content from the main sequence text-editing transcript.

2 - If one nested sequence overlaps the other, only the source transcript on Track 1 is "seen" in the main sequence transcript. It does not matter that there is silence at that point on Audio Track 1. If this is the case, mute track 1 and you will see the transcript of track 2 appear.

A workaround for issue 2 is to create a 3rd nested sequence, with both videos overlapping. Transcript this as a static/sequence transcription using the Mix channel selection. Then nest just the audio from it on Track 1 in your main sequence. You'll see that transcript (with both speakers) and it will work as a text-editing transcript: it changes as you edit the main sequence.
