PROXIES issue: Exporting video w. proxies, and not relinking them

My videos have been exporting using the proxies, as in the video quality is very reduced and grainy and looks exactly like my proxies. I know this is the issue because I tried multiple solutions and then when I just detached my proxies, it exported perfectly fine in full quality.

Then, when I try to relink the proxies, it only allows me to link one clip at a time, even though they are all in one location on my hard drive in the same folder. It does not recognize the other proxies and relink automatically the way that it should.

PLEASE help, this is a massive inconvenience because now I either have to create all new proxies and wait for them to export in Media Encoder, or go in and manually attach EACH proxy, and I have well over 400+ clips. This has been going on for over a month.

Premiere Pro version 26.3, all other Adobe apps are updated, working on a 2020 MacBook running Sonoma 14.6.1.

Thank you for your bug report. We are aware of the relinking one by one issue and a fix is present in the Current Beta. If you haven’t downloaded the Beta before, you can find it in the Creative Cloud Desktop app. Instructions here: https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/creative-cloud-beta.html

Rolling back to 26.2.2 is also a current workaround until the new version is officially released.

As for exporting using proxies, this shouldn’t happen unless you have this checked in under “General” in the “Export” mode.

Do you have this selected? The only other reason may be that it temporarily can’t find the source file, and will link to the proxy instead of exporting offline media, but that doesn’t appear to be the case. Are your Proxies and Source files on the same drive? (Conversely you could move Proxies to a separate external drive you can just unmount when exporting. They will still be attached but offline. I’d be curious to know if this acts as a workaround. )

No Amy, that is not selected. I’m aware of that box but it was not selected, I’ve specifically ensured that it has not been selected before every single export.

All of my proxies and source media are on the same drive, and I select the “Next to Original Media” option when I create my proxies so they are close to the original media. I have updated to the newest version of Premiere Pro 26.3.2 (Build 2) and the newest update for my Mac, but my videos are still exporting using the proxies.

I have my export settings at the highest quality, the same export settings I have been using for years. I have even started to toggle my proxies “off” before exporting.

The only solution I’ve found is to restart my computer completely, reopen Premiere, and immediately toggle the proxies off before Premiere begins to relink them and when the media is still being loaded and then export my video, but that only results in a full quality export about half of the time.

I haven’t tried the Premiere Pro Beta yet but I will try that next. I just want to report that this bug of exporting with the proxy quality is STILL happening in the newest version of Premiere 26.3.2.

I have not tried detaching my proxies in the newest version of Premiere, because I am still editing this project and I don’t entirely trust that the proxy re-linking bug is fixed either. I would like for it to just export in full quality again in the regular Premiere Pro app, without having to unlink my proxies.
