randomly unsupported files in Premiere

this has happened to me several times now while using Premiere. I will open a project that I'm working on and one of the files will say its "unsupported" even though it was working fine before. the file has not moved locations. nothing has changed and its not all the files of that type either. it will just be one file that it refuses to load. I dont want to have to go back and fix all the individual clips if I dont have to but I dont know how to fix the issue, thanks.

    Try resetting the preferences:

If that doesn't work, try creating a new project and import the old one into it.

    Hi @katimeana ,

Welcome to the Premiere forums! We are glad to see you here. We need a few more details to help us understand the issue. Please see, How do I write a bug report?

Screenshots of the “unsupported” error and “Media File Properties” of the files in the question would also be extremely helpful.

Additional troubleshooting you could try: Can you copy the problematic file to a different location and import it from there or does Premiere still consider it unsupported?

Thanks for reaching out. I hope we can help you soon. Sorry for the frustration!

    Thanks,

    Amy
