Relinking Media everytime I open a project

Brand new project and it also occurs when I open older projects.

Pr is on internal C drive

I don't want to relink myself, but Premiere automatically starts relinking media everytime I open a project, It doesn't give the warning that files are missing, it just starts relinking Media by itself in the upper right corner in the Progress Dashboard.

But only with files that are onn external SSD's. But I had no issues before.

Preferences:

Hi @JanVdB - Is this a brand new project in 25.5 or an upgraded project from a previous version?  Does this happen if you create a brand new project?  Do you have Media Analysis & Transcription enabled in your preferences?  Is Premiere installed on your internal C: drive?  Have you tried relinking through file explorer?

External SSD's are Samsung T9 1000MB/s

So all footage is on external SSD, Pr software of course on C drive. I have a seprate fast SSD for Cache (500GB reserved) I have empties the cache.

Pr makes .pek files over and over again.

When opening any project (they are all on ext SSD's), Pr relinks media every single time, and it takes minutes...

I'm using Media Browser for importing.

The relinking is done automatically by Pr.

Update: I created a "virtual internal disk part" on one of my external SSD's, copy/pasted a few movs there and replaced these movs instead of the versions on the real external SSD's and... that works fine.

So the "solution" is to trick Premiere/Windows in to thinking that the external SSD is an internal SSD...

But of course that is not a great solution for the longer run...

I now see that is an issue with all my external SSD's. As said: there was no issue before, all working great. It must have something to do with how Pr handles external SSD's... When I copy a .mov to the internal C drive, and use that file instead of the original on external SSD, it works great. 

Pr also writes .pek files everytime I open the project, next to the original .mov file. My audio settings of my sequences match the project and the footage settings...
