"Replace Footage" Function does not work with imported photoshop files

After importing a photoshop file into your premiere project, none of the files can be replaced. When attempting to "replace footage" with a different file, the original still remains.

Thanks for the reply! I was not able to make your suggested work-around work for me either. I edited the Photoshop title onto a different track and tried to option drag it in place of the original title with transitions. When I did this, the transitions went away.

My system is a MacBook Pro M4 Max running OS 15.6.1 with Adobe Premiere version 25.5.0.

My goal is to replace temp titles made within Premiere Pro with the new imported Photoshop titles, and replace them on the timeline with the existing transitions (fade in/fade out) intact. When I use the "replace clip from source monitor" shortcut, nothing happens. I have properly assigned the tracks.

The replace function works with footage, just not with the temp titles created inside Premiere. Is this by design or a bug? Do I need to make a feature request? It should be self evident why this would be a reasonable expectation.

I'm using 25.5.0 on mac OS 15.6.1 to finish a film.

Hi @Happy5EB8 - Thank you for reporting this. I was able to reproduce the issue and have filed a bug report. We’ll update this thread as soon as we have more information to share.
Can you provide some more information on your setup Please see, How to Report a Problem.

As a workaround, after you’ve added the Photoshop files to the timeline, hold down Option (Mac) or Alt (Windows) and drag the media you want to use onto the existing clip in the timeline. This will replace the file while preserving the edit.

Sorry for the frustration.

If the files are still open in Photoshop, make sure they are saved.

Also, try deleting the Media Cache and Media Cache files:
