Replace Footage Wrongly processed

Hi! I'm sort of repairing a a sequence wronlgy made with proxies with embeded audio and replacing its items with proper multicam sequences with synced audio.

I've discovered that, when using the «replace footage» function (alt + shift + drop) Premiere actually doesn't use the timecode to replace the clip, but the relative amount of frames from the start timecode to the selection of the original clip applied to the multicam sequence.

Since some multicam sequences have prior audio synced, the replacement goes absolutely wrong. I think this process should strictly use timecode to replace footage. How can I solve it? What am I doing wrong?

Hi! in fact it is, source media.

Also, will complete this again. My prior response is not shown in the thread

Use the template below to provide us with information:

  • Issue – replace footage doensn't replace a clip with its multicam equivalent right if the multicam timeline has an earlier timecode start.
  • Steps to reproduce drop a clip on a timeline, then make a multicam clip with it, syncing sound that has an earlier start (sound often starts recording first than video when filming). Then try to replace the original footage for the new multicam clip using the replace footage drag and drop method.
  • Replace clip doesn't match by the timecode. It places as an in point a point that has the same lenght from clip start to the in point.

Hi @Sergio Venturini -  Thanks for submitting your bug report. We need a few more details to try to help with the issue.
Please see, How to Report a Problem.

Can you check your Preferences > Media and see if timecode is set to "Use Source Media"
