Saved Workspaces Not Loading Properly - Project Panel Doesn't Remain In Place

I've been using PP for nearly a decade and have issues with saved workspaces not loading correctly the entire time. This is across multiple devices (windows and Apple) and throughout every update released over the years.

The specific issue is with the "Project" panel. The panel where you import footage, see its metadata, create bins, etc. This issue only occurs when creating a new project file. Regardless of how many times I move it to the correct place, then click "Save Changes to This Workspace."

The project panel always loads in the wrong place and that "wrong" place is different every time.

However, if I open a pre-existing project where I dragged it to the correct place and clicked "save changes to this workspace" it loads in the proper place.

Again, only an issue when creating new projects. A minor issue, but still incredibly annoying.

Mod note: The title changed slightly for search purposes. Thank you.

Thank you, sorry for asking you to do that. It's for processing. I'm not writing the internal bugs; the devs are. They have limited bandwidth and appreciate the templating of crucial info for quickly filing and testing bugs. Thanks for helping them out.

I also upvoted.

I pretty much covered all of that in the original post....

Issue: Custom Workspaces not loading properly. Specifically location of the "Project" panel.
Adobe PP Version: Every single CC version ever released.
Operating System: Multiple versions of Apple OS, Windows 7 and 11
System Info: MSI G1 Gaming Motherboard, GTX 1080 graphics card, 64 gigs of ram, 4tb ssd (western digital)

Feel free to fill in the template, Neil. It will help the devs understand the issue, especially if the problem can be reproduced easily. Thanks!

I've been complaining about the Project panel jumping workspaces for years ... as have many others.

In my case, I have nine custom workspaces. In only ONE of them is the Project panel in the original "home", in the panel in the lower left quadrant. I normally have the Project panel in a panel group on a second monitor. And I work in Productions mode, with typically several project files in tabs of their own. Very slick.

But more than half the time, on launch, one or more of those Project files is opened in the lower left qaudrant panel of the main UI monitor ... and I have to drag it back where I want it.

This NEEDS fixing, finally.

Hi J,

I've seen others complain about this from time to time. It usually involves custom workspaces and dual monitors. What might help devs reproduce this bug is to place the details of your system and workflow using the following template: How do I write a bug report?

That's how devs prefer to receive a bug report if you don't mind.

I don't have this issue so I can't reproduce it, but I don't use dual monitors. Do you? Please include any workflow details using the template.

Thanks,
Kevin
