Sequence color space is wrong

When importing AE files with partial transparency, I notied that everything was extremely washed out. Tried everything I could, but when I changed the sequence color space to HGL, and then back to Rec. 709, the problem corrected itself. So now, every project I make I have to do this in order for my titles to show up and export correctly.
