Slip tool unresponsive when extending

(Title wrong, I confuse the two )
Video below should explain

When using “Ripple edit tool” it will not “grab” the cut

26.0.1

This happens specifically if you try to grab the cut from the audio track, and not video track
And also, more specifically, this tend to happen when the audio track is collapsed fully
However, it’s impossible to grab and adjust cuts from the video track, as a huge timecode will cover the audio waveform (another post earlier)

Root of error: As MyerPj points out below, I am hitting the “transition handle”, even though it is hidden from view…

“Transition Handle” icon is hidden when using Ripple and Rolling edit tools.
Transition handle --AREA-- is not hidden, making it so that the area is unclickable when using ripple and rolling edit tools.

This makes it so that the user needs to be almost pixel perfect when adjusting a cut and having layers fully collapsed, affecting the audio layer portion of the timeline

When layers are fully collapsed, it is impossible to make certain visual changes as the timecode overlay is fully blocking the actual audio waveform when selecting a video layer cut

The bug reporting on these forums is 95% gaslighting and 5% help from other users. A lot of us have been using this software for years and notice when things are not working, immediately. First Adobe changed the way the ripple works, for no reason at all and now in v26 grabbing the handles is hit and miss, which when you do this multiple times is fatiguing. There is an issue!

Yes, I noticed the same on the latest release of 26.01 build 3. When using the ripple tool it does not easily grab on to the timeline cut. Where as it has always “grabbed” the splice with ease, now it can take several attempts. Definetely a new issue.

Really hard to tell from your video. Slow down, and make it clear what you are trying to do.

I'm simply trying to click and drag the cut to make a change

And as you can see, I'm unable to actually click and drag the cut

You see no change in the video, as nothing is happening and the program isn't responding to my action

I'm also successfully demonstrating that I can edit the position of said cut with the rolling edit tool, but not the ripple edit tool

I also see it working, and it works well on my system (win11-25h2, pp26.01).

I think you can slow down just a bit, but also, try it with the track height a bit taller, you may be hitting the Transition Handle with the track height so low.

    Hi @Daniel Lange,
It’s hard to tell from the video, but it looks like you hit the end of the timecode on a clip at one point, and that is why it won’t extend farther.  Can you confirm that isn’t the issue?  I wasn’t able to reproduce this based on your video.  We need a bit more information to help you. Please see: How do I Report A Problem?  Sorry for the frustration, and thanks for reaching out.
