Some sequences in source monitor when stacked on a timeline freeze and need to be reloaded in Premiere 2026

I edit with split timelines (Top timeline holding a number of source sequences and bottom timeline holding program sequences) and have been doing so for years in Premiere. Update 2026 is freezing some of the source sequences intermittently when clicking between them and I have to close and re-open them to access them again. Not a major issue but a noticeable bug since the new update.

    Hi @Raddles,

Sorry you’ve been experiencing issues. Could you provide additional information on hardware and operating system used? Please see How to Report a Problem.

Are the source sequence timeline panels freezing (are you unable to click on any clips, drag the played, etc?) or is it just the Source monitor panel/playback itself? Does this happen if only the Source monitor sequence timelines are open or not stacked?

Is this occurring across multiple projects or has it been a project-specific issue? What type of media is being used in the source sequences and project (format, resolution, etc)?

    Sorry for the frustration,

    Dani

    Hi Dani,

cheers for the reply and apologies for not including my details which are

Mac Studio 2025 (M3 ultra) with OS Sequoia 15.7.1

Running projects from a RAID 0 7200rpm Drive Array via TB connection

The issue seems to be intermittent so it’s not a major reoccurring problem but you see I have this kind of setup when editing with source clips in sorted source sequences and program sequences below.

This freezing of one of the source sequences has happened a few times only in this pancake style configuration. When it happened the whole source sequence playback froze but not the others. Didn’t check if the clips within were frozen, just the playback. I closed and reopened the source sequence and the issue went away. Just flagging it for now.

Another bug, while I’m here, I noticed from Premiere 2025 Update, is when first opening a project

Annoyingly, I often have to click a number of times with my mouse on a project name before it opens. Im using a bluetooth Contour Unimouse and it may have something to do with that mouse if this is not an already reported issue. I haven’t tried another mouse to compare.
