Thumbnails not displaying for R3D files in Media Browser

R3D files do not show thumbnails when viewed in Media Browser. Video appears when hovering over a clip and scrubbing, but when the mouse is not hovering over the clip the thumbnails disappear. Identical issue to this post from May 2023. All R3D files behave this way regardless of camera source, resolution, size etc.

This behavior has been observed on Premiere Pro 23.2.0, 23.6.0, and 24.0.0

Mac OS Ventura 13.5.2

Apple M1 Ultra

128 GB RAM

NAS Storage

This is definitely an Apple Silicon issue (all M series CPUs).

The workaround, which isn't ideal, is that at the very least you can import all the footage and do you media cull from there. Once the .R3D footage is ingested, you can see the thumbnails.

I know a lot of software and hardware engineers that are having integration issues with the Silicon systems, but I wish Adobe would address this issue, as there are so many RED users that also have newer Mac Silicon systems...

This remains an issue. M1 chips seem to be the common characteristic. Will Adobe let us know they're working on it?
