Transcript panel text randomly skipping up and down

The text in the transcript window sometimes randomly starts skipping up and down. Only thing that helps is restarting the application. The transcribed clips in the timelime are multicam clips of which the audio has been transcribed.

If I switch to another timeline in the same project the transcript panel functions normally but the affected timeline keeps having the same issue. See video file attached.

Hey Ian,

I haven't tried updating premiere to the newest version as I'm in the middle of a series and I find updating to risky.

Hardware: Mac Studio M1 Max 64GB RAM, thunderbolt 3 external SSD raid system

Operating system: Mac Os Ventura:13.7.4

Adobe premiere version: 24.6.4 using productions

Video format: Prores Proxy mov 1080p

Audio format: .WAV 48khz 6 mono

Sequence info: 25p 1080p sequence with Multicam clips in it

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create a multicam sequence from the audio and video files. Sequence Settings: Camera 1 Audio Track settings: Mono

2. Transcribe the audio clips used to make the multicam sequences

3. Add multicam clips as stringout in a 1080p25 timeline

4. Move this timeline to its own project.

5. Open the timeline in the source monitor

6. From the source monitor panel: Open sequence in timeline

7. Open the text panel to see the transcription

8. Start editing with the clips by adding clips from the source monitor timeline to an edit timeline, at some point the issue will happen and the transcription panel will start skipping up and down. Once this happens to a timeline you can close it and reopen it but the issue will still be there. If you open another timeline to edit from it will not have the  issue and the text panel operates as normal. If you then go back again to the affected timeline the text in the transcript panel will start jumping up and down again.

I can't really tell at what moment the issue happens, it feels like it is happening quite randomly and the only way to solve it is to restart the application. It happens a couple of times per day and has happened to multiple timelines within the production.

Hi @thomass51259879

Thank you for taking your time to file a bug report. I know you already spent the time to write out the specifics for the bug report but could you also  just jump to the link here  How do I write a bug report and follow the steps to providing more information about your bug,it really helps the team out having in this structured format. Have you tried the latest version of Premiere to see if the same issue happens? Also how often does the skipping take place when you're working? Is this something you are able to reproduce each time you use the multicam transcriptions? Thank you for your time. We look forward to helping you out.

Ian
