Transcription Default Language Not Working for Sequences

It is neccessary to manually alter the language for Transcriptions every time when attempting to transcribe a sequence.

  1. Within Media Analysis & Transcrption Settings language is set to English (UK)
  2. Select a sequence with Voice included and choose Transcribe from the Text panel
  3. Expand the view from the 'Generate static transcript'
  4. Language set as incorrect English

When attempting to transcribe source media, on the other hand, the correct set language (English UK) is selected.  Additionally, after opening the 'Create transcription for source media', if you cancel this view, select the sequence and then choose to Transcribe, the language is now selected as English (UK).

If you subsequently create a transcript with the chosen language, English (UK), close Premiere Pro and re-open it, attempting to re-transcribe the sequence is back as the incorrect English again.

The same occurs when attempting to use the Auto Language option.  OS Locale is only obeyed when attempting to transcribe source media and not a sequence, unless the source media transcription view has been opened prior.

It's annoying enough that you have to remember that English is not English, but American, when using Adobe products.  It's more frustrating with this bug continually forcing it upon you.

Please fix this!

As mentioned in the initial comment, enabling the auto language detection feature has the exact same experience as not doing so; English (UK) set when testing both enabled and disabled.

Sorry not to provide environmental details prior.

Hi @seansgm

Welcome to the Premiere Pro Forum community. Thank you for taking the time to report a problem.
In the Media Analysis & Transcription Settings, is the "enable language auto detection" box checked? If so, can you see what happens if you uncheck the box and set the default language to English (UK)? Also, can you include your system and work environment
using the link here, How to Report a Problem, It has steps to provide more information to help us identify the issue.

Here to help.
