Transcription error; system will not transcribe audio clips in multiple tracks, even if they are checked..

I updated to Premiere 26.3 on July 27th, 2026. For a 30 minute video with two stereo audio tracks, the transcription recognizes both media sources (and will allow me to select both for transcription) but after processing/loading, it only transcribes the first audio track. I tried getting around this by exporting the audio file and importing it into the project, but Premiere omitted the second audio track. I tried opening the project with Audition, and though it showed both audio tracks with the appropriate editing cuts, there was no waveform for the second track.

    @aalpert712,

    One way you might see this is because it will only show the transcription for A1, not A2. Mute audio track A1 and see if you  now see the A2 transcription.

    Gave it a try, but it didn’t work. Screen recording below (but I had to compress it down to 480SD to attach it to this reply so you probably can’t see it very well).

    Hi @aalpert712 it’s very hard to see. Let me DM you an upload link so you could send the higher resolution for us.

    From what I can see, it looks like neither clip is actually “Transcribed” hence the blue “Transcribe” option, but are you telling me that pressing that button doesn’t transcribe either clip? Are you able to Match Frame back to the Source and have it transcribe the Source clips individually first?

    From there you could try “Generate Static Transcript” in the text options to see if it grabs all of the tracks.

    Hello @aalpert712

    Welcome to the Premiere Forums. We need a little more information to help us diagnose the issue.

    Please see, How do I write a bug report? for our preferred format. Specifically a little about your system could help us in this process.

    Just to confirm, are you talking about a Video Clip and two separate Audio clips with different Source transcriptions in the timeline? Is the Timeline transcription only reading the clips on Track A1, etc?

    Hope we can help,

    Amy

    One timeline sequence with two audio tracks (A1 and A2). Correct, transcription only works for A1.
