UNACCEPTABLE: HDR FOOTAGE SCREWED UP!

I’ve paid thousands of dollars on Premiere and I can’t get the colors right when editing footage from my iphone in HDR. I’ve tried all solutions online: different color profiles, settings, different LUT filters. And still the Iphone footage gets exported with a completely different color.

 

Capcut does it in two clicks. Wtf Adobe? This is completely unacceptable! Please fix your software ASAP! 

This is especially embarrassing because the video looks fine on Premiere’s preview. Then looks fine on Premiere’s export preview. And then the final file is screwed. 

I’ve been editing for almost 20 years and this is the most annoying Premiere issue. 

PLEASE FIX!!

    Apparently you are not knowledgeable on using the color management of Premiere as that can handle most HLG/PQ HDR footage quite well … if you tell it what you want it to do. 

     

    Capcut assumes you only want one thing. And that’s all it can do.

     

    Premiere can do a ton of things, from auto-adjusting HLG/PQ to Rec.709, or to either HLG or PQ, or do absolutely nothing, passing on “original data” at export. So log files are still log on export.

     

    But as it has so many options, it does not assume you ONLY want X. You need to set the options to do what you want.

    Welcome to the Premiere Forums! We need a little more information to understand the issue. It could help if you could provide the information in  How do I write a bug report? Are you viewing it in Quicktime Player on a Mac, for instance? Have you looked at the output in VLC player? It could also help if you provided specific output settings and color profiles you already tested.
