Update 26.2.2 .. video transitions are laggy on timeline

When adding a dip to black on a sequence , the footage is very laggy as it scrolls through the dip to black. Ince this has passed all footage is fine again … tested on multiple devices and same issue occurred. This has happened since latest version release

Just an FYI, I’m just done building (again) my main machine, i9-12900K - 64gb - 960Pro 500gb. 3 other M.2’s. I ran the machine for a few days with the intel / motherboard graphics (as the drive I needed to access sits under the Rtx-4070 I usually have in there. I was so surprised at the lag I was getting, just normal stuff (PP v26.2.2). And that was all down to the graphics card, as soon as I put in the 4070, all was well. (just a point if info)

    Hi @AndyP1982 ,
Welcome to the Premiere Pro forums! We need a few more details to try to help with the issue. Please see, How do I write a bug report? Did all of the devices you tested on have the same configuration?

I hope we can help you soon. Sorry for the frustration!

    Let’s figure it out,
    Amy

Hello and thank you .. so one device is Apple Mac mini m2 pro , 24gb unified memory .. latest version of premier .. this issue has only arrived on the latest build

    other device

Apple Mac mini m4 pro 24gb unified memory again same issues

dip to black is the biggest culprit

strangely .. the issues do not happen on my MacBook Pro which is also m4 pro ?

all running same version of premier and build ..

That’s interesting, and I can see you already tried deleting the Media Cache files, uninstalling and reinstalling.

Would you mind checking to see if there is a difference between your M4 Mac Book Pro and the Mac Minis (M2 and M4) under Premiere Dropdown → Settings → Memory and see if the same amount of Ram is reserved for Premiere? Also in Project Settings → General is the Mercury Playback Engine selected?

I am also interested to know a little about the footage in your sequence. Is it all the same frame rate and resolution as the sequence? What is the Video format? Are all systems accessing the footage via the same protocol or are the Mac Minis across a server and the laptop hooked up to a drive?

    Thank you,

    Amy

Is there green, red, or yellow above the timeline?

Does this happen only with dip to black or all transitions?
