when i right click on a file on my adobe premiere timeline and choose reveal in finder, it points to a random folder that doesnt house the file as opposed to pointing to the exact file

when i right click on a file on my adobe premiere timeline and choose reveal in finder, it points to a random folder that doesnt house the file. What it’s supposed to do is point exactly to the file. but instead its pointing to a folder (that doesnt house the file). i’ve seen it do this before. Premiere 25.6.6 (build 5). mac os tahoe 26.6.2

Welcome back to the Premiere Forums. I’m sorry you appear to still be having these issues my colleague @KatieToo was working with you on. This new symptom could be the key to understanding what was happening with this older issue (and I’m wondering if you could also follow-up and answer Katie’s questions to help us with the investigation.)

when i press the locate button in the link media dialogue and press search, it tries to suggest a clip that is totally the wrong name thent he clips its supposed to be searching for. | Community

Could we also get information on your Mac and the project history? What chip and / or CPU / GPU combo is your Mac? How old is this project and how many Premiere Versions has it been used in? What version was it created in? Is it a project created by Project Manager? Did you import the Media on this system setup or did someone else create the Project, prep it for you and send it to you to relink on your end?

the reveal in findr and the your aforementioned comment about “link media dialogue” box are two separate issues and should be treated as such. Mac studio 2023. Memory 128gb ram. masOS golden gate 27.0. i went to “about this mac” and dont see gpu or cpu. the project file - i work in so many different projects during the week that i dont even know what project i was in when i mentioned this. and i cant publically list what I’m workign on and who my client is. I guess I’m going to have to start a separate private google excel doc just to track the project file name, premiere version to be able to answer these questions in the future.
