I have been using Premiere Beta (27.1.0), and suddenly every time I work with text or graphics, the app crashes. I have tried all the remedies I could find with no joy. Now, I have reverted back to 27.0, and it is performing well.

Specifically, every time I would use the rectangle tool to create a background for text, the app would crash completely. Then, the same thing happened with the text tool.

Always try to note and report the Build you are in for the Beta. I just tested on Win 11 with PR Beta 27.1.0 Build 5, and saw no problem. My test procedure was to create a bit of text with the Text tool, then in the Properties panel, I added a layer using that rectangle tool. I can position it, click in and out of timeline, etc

I updated to today’s latest, 27.1.0.16, and used my test procedure. The Text tool creation appeared okay, then added a rectangle tool. As soon as I did something (clicking in the timeline?), PR crashed silently (no hang, no crash report dialogue).

I re-opened PR Beta and the project. I could check the transcription of the source clip, open the sequence, playback etc. I selected the text/graphic clip, and clicked in the properties panel, and changed the layer order, so the box would be behind the text. When I tried to move the text (in the monitor), it crashed as before.

I saved the files from this path, after crash 1 and again after crash 2, if staff want them:

    C:\Users\video\AppData\Local\Temp\Adobe\Premiere Pro (Beta)\27.0\SentryIO-db
