Photoshop 27.8 Freezes / Crashes when editing existing text layer and adding a space char

When editing existing text layer, adding a space within the text layer crashes photoshop. Trashed prefs, re-installed, still crashing. Mac OS Sequoia 15.7.7 / Photoshop 27.8 (also in beta)
