Brand new constant crashes

Lightroom has always worked perfectly for me and suddenly its crashing constantly, often immediately from opening. No other software has a similar issue, eg photoshop or any other high tariff software. I have the highest spec macbook pro so dont believe its RAM etc. I have updated my macbook software, updated lightroom, uninstalled and re-installed all with no avail other than perhaps a temporary improvement
