Captivate

I am fairly new at learning Animate. A total noob. But I have manage to create a few small eLearning animations for a few silly games requested by our ISDs. When I create something in Animate (HTML canvas, sized as neede 640x360 px, center stage and responsive set to BOTH, and OAM is tranparent. stage has transparent background) then import as an HTML animation in Captivate, I consistently get a top and left magin that pushes the animation outside of the right and bottom edge of the frame. Does anyone know if there is a setting or some code I can edit to correct this? Or at least why and how it is happening. It looks like there is some padding added. My coding abilites are weak but I have a coworker who programs that can help if needed. But first I have to help find out why it is happening. Also is it true, that an .ini change to the CP code will allow us to layer the OAM file below a static graphic? Currently it always appears on top when viewed and published from CP. I

I've added some of my own HTML elements to a course, this works fine when mobile gestures are off. But when they are on the elements cannot be clicked. I have a course that starts off with a 360 video with multiple hotspots.  The hotspots allow the learner to access different slides.  The issue I'm having is that on computers with intergrated graphics cards, the computers tend to choke.  Here is what happens: The users computer accesses the 360 interaction, their GPU kicks in to let's say 50% as the hotspots appear.  They access one of the hotspots...GPU drops a little.  They return to the 360 interaction and their GPU now ramps up to as high as 60%.  They visist another slide and their GPU drops a little again.  They access the 360 interaction and their GPU climbs again beyond 60%.  Depending on the computer, at some point the GPu hits 100% and the CPU starts to throttle causing the course to choke and has to be reloaded in order to stop the computer from choking. My question, is there a way to offload the system resources of a project without reloading the project entirley?  I t

Hi there,The 360 mode does not work for me (see attached). I have a similar problem to the one described here. I see that the person who posted the issue did not get a reply. Maybe someone has a similar experience?Other non-Captivate projects do work - I can see the Cardboard test projects, the Google 360 Street view works and also Expeditions work. But if I try Captivate exported project the 360 does not work. In browser all is ok. Tried with mine, used the bar code, all works until I click Enter VR. I tried this project from keypointlearn - same result - the image is frozen. What could be wrong?I am using Cardbaord - tried 2 samsung phones but have the same issue on an iPad too.Thanks in advance for your inputBobby 

OS: macOS 10.15.7 - Catalina using Captivate MacOs 11.5.5.676Note: new to Captivate 2019, have not used Captivate for a couple years, but previously on MacOS (9, I think)I attempt to make a software simulation capture. I have attempted this with default Cmd-Enter and with several custom global keys (same results).At end of capture, I'm unable to stop recording. No key combination works. I've also clicked the Captivate icon in menu bar. When I do that, Captivate crashes. I have attempted to provide Captivate appropriate permissions in Mac's Security & Privacy settings.

Hello all! I am creating a Drag and Drop as part of a knowledge check.  I have three locations and three sources. Each source has one correct drop location. And I have created three custom variables, one for each drop combination.  I am trying to change the value of a variable when a source is dropped on a drop location so I can check those variables upon submission (not auto submitted) to provide the appropriate feedback. I am trying to do this… IF a drop is correct, I want to assign that particular drop variable with 1 and if incorrect, assign with 0, via the object action. Drop sources can be re-dropped if necessary, so if a source is dropped them moved to a different drop location, the object action of checking if it is correct and assigning 1 or 0 to the variable should happen again (crossing my fingers that this is possible). I will have a custom submit button to take care of the submissions so I can accomplish all of the scripting. I want to gi

Hello,I have a problem... We have a Captivate VIP licence for 3 users. For one of my user on MacOS 10.14, I don't know why, one day Captivate says the demo version has expired and that we need to purchase it or enter a serial number. But we have a license based on user e-mail that I configured in the Adobe Administration Console.So I uninstalled everything on my user Mac, even uninstalled Creative Cloud.I then installed again Adobe Captivate thru the Package I built from the Admin console.And unfortunately, Captivate keeps complaining that the demo version has expired... And we cannot use it. How can I force Captivate to ignore this demo expired timestanp and connect to the Adobe website to verify the user e-mail and see that it is a valid VIP licence ? Can someone please help me. I am stuck and it is becoming urgent for this user to get back to work ! Thanks for the help. Andrew

Hi, Had a search but couldn't find an answer to this one. I'm working with a client who has over 300 existing scorm files to be updated in Captivate. I, of course, do not have the original source files. Is there anyway to extract the text content and import into a new Captivate template? As a backup is there anyway to bulk import text from another format such as xml? I realise you can export, make necessary changes and reimport, but as these modules are varied in length and content it would need to be able to import and generate text captions and slides automatically. Many thanks, Alistair 

Has anyone seen or written a date picker calendar for use in CP? There are flash ones out there but I don't know if they'd work in CP. I tried doing one with scripting but the scripting, while easy, is very limiting. Thoughts?

Hello,   my current issue is that I have some audio that syncs well with my animation in my timeline preview, but when exporting and viewing the training in my browser, is out of sync.   My setup looks like this: I am working on a slide that uses both a slide-audio, shows some graphics while its playing, when this sound is completed it pauses the training and shows a continue button to resume, after clicking that button it plays the sound attached to an object and continues the animation.   Generally, this works fine everything up to the pause is perfectly in sync, exactly as seen/heard when previewing in my timeline. Now when the new sound starts playing, the first couple of animations are still in sync, but then by the end of the 62 second audio clip it's completely out of synch. Previewing my timeline the objects a faded in exactly where they should in relation to the sound. But in the exported file, my last animations are delayed by seconds.   I can now guess at

I need to add closed caption to training modules I have developed.  I made sure to create the cc parameters for the project before working on any slides.  For some reason I can't explain, on the same slide, captivate can change font a number of times.  And it has nothing to do with resizing because I have very short sentences that are appearing with a tiny font.  I've tried redoing the slides from scratch without any cut and paste in case some font settings were secretly copied, it still changes the font but not necessarily for the same sentences.  The only commonality I have identified between the problematic slides is that they contain alot of Text to Speech sentences.  When viewing the next five slides in preview mode, they are perfectly fine.  But the published version is a different thing.  You find screen copies in published mode below, as well as the preview mode.  On one of my slides, it even introduces italic at one point.  It

I use Captivate11.5.1.499.  I've selected the dynamic them from the choices of themes delivered with Captivate.  When I preview the slides, everything is fine.  When publishing them, I am sometimes missing the theme background on some of the slides.  It is frequent in the quiz questions section.  For example, I might have 3 multiple choices questions.  The first one will have the theme background, but the next 2 don't have any background.  The 4th question might be a True or False and will have a background.  Sometimes it is right in the middle of the project (not in the quiz section).  I've had cases where the background was missing.  I don't change anything and re-publish and the background is back.  Any idea why?

I have a multiple choice slide where I want learners to indicate any three of six responses - basically as long as they check three, there are no wrong anwers. Is this possible? 

Cannot pinch or zoom on an HTML5 project published as scalable (I know that is for aspect ratio and not pinch and zoom). Cp7 up-to-date. Android 4.3 Used Chrome browser on the phone. Tried Dolhin browser on the phone. No pinch. No zoom. Any help is apprecaited.

Hello,In Captivate 9 I'm creating a slide in which I have groups of objects that contain lines. However, the lines do not show up when I preview the project nor when I publish it. I've attached a screenshot below. You'll notice a space between the circle objects and the squares containing dates where the lines should appear. I've tried deleting the lines and drawing them in again and changed their properties around, but I can't get them to appear. Thanks.

Hi there from South Africa. I lost my job due to retrenchment a few months ago. Before I left my previous employer I selected a few files of the work I've done for my CV portfolio to show a prospective employer.Then disaster struck. I got a bite and was asked to send my portfolio. However, the only two Captivate files I chose cannot be opened by clicking on the HTML file after unzipping it.  I've googled around and the only reason I can phantom is because I keep all my files stored on Onedrive. Apparently Onedrive is not able to store /support the file extension inside the SCORM zipped package. It's happened to me many years ago, but I cannot remember how to fix it. I was hoping there is an experienced Adobe Captivate user on here that can help me. I'm in a real twang here. The only one person left at the company cannot find the two Captivate files in question and I'm out of options here. Hoping someone can help.

Afternoon all,I have imported PowerPoint into Captivate that has a self assessment quiz (in other words there are hyperlinks in the PowerPoint that take you either back to the question if wrong or if correct you can continue). Question is if I export the Captivate to HTML (as flash is going away), the assessment doesn't come out right.  Am I missing something, a step or anything?  If I save it as a pdf everything works.  I need to save it as an HTML for our Learning Management System (LMS).    Thoughts?   Thanks in advance. Respectfully,Bill
