Captivate

I am designing a Captivate 2019 project (not responsive) and want different slide to pause to allow learners to read and view rollovers and other learning interactions. However, the slide plays super SUPER fast and the images as buttons will NOT pause. The images are behind the rest of the slide content, they are set to PAUSE AFTER a few seconds but they never stop the slide. I've created other projects and this has never happened. The only way I got it to work was to put in a shape object and turn it into a button. Why aren't images as buttons working?? Please help.

I am in a mutiple choice question.1. In the WIndows -> Quiz (panel), I select the partial score option2. I select an answer3. I go to Properties panel -> Options4. I find the Points: 0 5a. I change the value of the zero to another # and hit [ENTER]- Points goes back to 05b I change the value of the zero to another # and click outside of the Properties panel - Points go back to 0 Umm.. help? (I know the video is little. Hover over and click the full view to see my changing of POINTS not work).

Hi everyone! When I wan to Upload a Powerpoint in high fidelity in Captivate 2019, it stops at 59% and then the application closes.  Any Ideas?

Last time I tried posting this it got marked as SPAM, so I'm trying again... I'm creating a project where an interactive video of an office role-play situation plays on a slide. At different points in the video, the user needs to identify personality traits that the actors in the role play are expressing. These would be simple multiple choice prompts such as: Which trait is being expressed, here? Flexibility, Risk-Taking or Delegation?Captivate's interactive overlay slides seem perfect for this, especially when using knowlege check slides to ask multiple choice questoins. The issue is, I need these question to be scorable and trackable by the LMS. Knowledge check slides are unable to be scored and used in a final quiz, and actual quiz question slides are unable to be used as overlay slides for interactive vidoes. *facepalm*Does anyone have a simple way to create custom multiple choice question slides that can be used in overlay videos? ...but I'm not a javascript expert.&nbsp

Hello, I am a beginner at Captivate and I am using Captivate 2019.  I am trying to understand advanced actions, and I'm starting to get them but they're not doing anything that I want. Currently, I have 5 buttons on a page (with 4 different states). I want a Quiz button to appear once all 5 buttons have been clicked. I followed a couple of Paul Wilson videos however, they don't take into consideration that my buttons have states (normal, hovered and visited are the most important ones). I know it's an advanced action, but is there a video or anything that breaks it down for a beginner (with a brain that doesn't understand coding very much) or can someone here help me on how to have a button appear ONLY when all buttons have been clicked and visited, without changing the states of the buttons? Thank you

Would someone be able to help with a challenge I am facing on quiz question slides? In this quiz, I have multiple choice slides, an abbreviated example of which is as follows: Question: Lou needs to hire an engineer for a project at work. His college buddy, Phil, owns a well reputed engineering firm and wants the job. Can Lou hire Phil? Answers: (A) Yes, even though this could be a conflict of interest. (B) No, because this is a clear conflict of interest. Hello,  I'm a beginner at Captivate. I'm using Captivate 2019. I keep seeing that I have to add an advanced action to Captivate so that my buttons can have visited states. I have no idea what this means other than Project --> Advanced Actions. What do I do afterwards?  I already have my buttons made. There are 2 different modes for each button: Coloured and Black and White Original state is black and white, once it's hovered over it goes to the coloured version of the image (this I was able to do). Once it's been clicked I want the coloured version however I don't know how to do this. If anyone can please provide guidance or a video on how to do this I would appreciate it. 

Hello, I would like to learn how I can add an object to one slide, and get it to appear on other added slides automatically. I tried adding it to the master slide, but when I went back to the flimstrip view and added a new slide, it wasnt there. Im using Captivate 2019. 

I am working in a non-responsive module and proceeded to put in knowledge check slides.  When I did the size of the components of the multiple-choice was much larger than the slide.  The "submit" button was way off the slide and the text was much larger.  I made no size changes to the project or to the slide in question.  This has never happened before.  My other modules have never had this problem.   The attached screenshot image is at 100% which I normally work in on my large monitor. Thank you in advance for any ideas why this is happening.

If User Exits Course During Re-Take, Course Is Stuck on "Loading..."Our course becomes stuck on a loading page if the user had previously failed the course, begun to re-take, and exited the course mid-way through their attempt. Bookmarking works fine if user hasn't failed the quiz yet.If the user fails the quiz at the end they are shown the "re-take" button. If they "re-take" the quiz, but deiced to close the course at after a few slides, when they attempt to re-launch the course they will be taken to never-ending "loading" screen. Please advise! Does Adobe Quiz Results Analizer have to be used with a webserver? I just wondered if all learners will be using just one stand alone PC to take a Captivate quiz, is it possible to use the Adobe Quiz results Analizer installed on that PC to record the quiz scores and later review them? Or any ideas on how this could be achieved? The PC has internet access but is not on a network.

I'm new to creating 360 VR projects and am doing a little practice before really diving in.  I have a 360 Camera (GoPro Fushion) and took a few trial images.  When I import the jpeg file to the project, it ends up upside down and I know normally you can move the photo in Captivate and set it where you want it to be on the image when the user opens the projet, but, I can't figure out how to get the photo the right way up to do that.  I can move it around but it never lets me rotate / move it enough so that it's not starting upside down.  Any guidance / suggestions would be most appreciated for this newbie to this type of project.  Thanks!

Ich stehe momentan vor der Herausforderung einen Kurs zu entwerfen.In diesem soll ein Memory-Spiel integriert werden, welches anstatt der normal 2 Paare, 3 Paare vorweist.Es sollen also 3 Paare (bestehend aus zwei Texten und einem Bild) aufgedeckt werden, um einen Punkt zu erhalten. Die Texte sind ca. 60 -70 Wörter lang und es werden insgesamt 11 Paare/Gruppen (sprich 3 x 11 = 33 Karten) benötigt.Gibt es hierzu eine Lösungsmöglichkeit?

I need to publish a little demo module for a prospective client.  They do not yet have an LMS. It's a responsive project.  Can I just publish it and put in a Dropbox folder, then give them a link to the index to preview?  Or do I need an actual separate server? To further complicate things,  I upgraded my Mac to Catalina not realizing there would be issues. I'm working around problems now.  

Hi Everyone, After a problem with running Captivate on Catalina, I downgraded my Mac software and i'm finally running Captivate again. However I had a 2017 install file still on my computer I had to use that, as downloading a DMG file from Captivate is a pain in the ass with filling in forms and all. It should recognize me as a payed user when i'm logging in with my Adobe ID. Anyways.... Now when i'm publishing my content to HTML5 and opening it, it just shows me a preloading screen. I had this before, but this time I have it offline and online. Previous time I solved it with updating to Captivate 2019, but as I already had issues with Catalina and had to downgrade my computer, I'm a bit scared to update anything on my system EVER again 🙂 Captivate 2017 should be able to publish my HTML5 projects right? Is there any way to solve this preloading issue? Or do I really need to upgrade to 2019 which means that in 2017 nobody could publish HTML5 projects. 

In the page, I made a text input box with user input validation and a button for answering.I want to set so that when a button is pressed, characters are automatically entered into the text input box and user input is verified.When I clicked the button using "Perform advanced action", I was able to create a specific text in the text input box, but how can I validate user input? I don't have a good idea.Please lend your help!

Hey, is anyone else having problems recoring video demo's on a Mac Books (I'm currently on OS Mojave). Once I go to end the recording it doesn't load into edit mode just gets stuck and I have to force quit Captivate. Can anybody help me fix this please?

How can I make the text entered in the text caption be copied to the text entry box when the button is pressed?

WE are a developer of training courses and we have a customer who has asked us to SCORM file the course. The issue im concered with is the number is users and the course term limit. The courses price we ofdfer is based on numbe rof users and the course is only accessable for 1 year. The LMS that the customer is using is a thridparty and is not controled or accessable by us. We just hand over the SCORM file and thay pay us. Our legal; team is wrting the agrements, but im also hopeing SCORM will allow me some custom controlls.  If I SCROM file my course will I loss that control or does SCORM allow you to set digital controls? 

Hi,I've seen a ton of videos and pages on fancy ways to add feedback and images to quizzes. I'm just looking for a way to have one feedback message for a correct, and one feedback message for all incorrect answers for each particular question. I don't have the options I see in other videos -- they are either greyed out or the interface is different. I can't imagine this isn't a standard option. I attached a screenshot of my slide quiz panel. I have Captivate 2019. Something I'm trying is to create a caption with multiple states -- correct and incorrect -- and associate it through some Advanced Action to a user selecting either a correct or incorrect answer. I created the caption but don't see a way to associate it. How do people handle this basic funcionality? Thanks!

Working with Captivate 2019 and IE v11 to publish as HTML5. As documented in other posts (https://community.adobe.com/t5/captivate/tabbing-in-html5-not-flash/td-p/9386192 ), using the Tab key as a shortcut does not work with HTML5. Background: Have Text Entry Box where user types four characters into and presses Tab to automatically populate additional fields on the screen This is how the application actually works. Of course, the Tab key doesn't work in HTML5. Tried workaround noted in above link but it also did not work. Sacrified text validation by specifying "Go to the next slide" in the On Focus Lost field. Thus, user can enter any text (right or wrong) and output will advance to next slide by pressing Tab. This works but somehow disables using Enter as a shortcut on the next slide for a Click Box. On that next slide, we have a Click Box where the user selects a radio button on the screen. But we allow them to shortcut it by merely pressing Enter to advance to

I am using a section of a video from YouTube. I overlay slides and knowledge checks during breaks between dialogue, but upon playback they move slightly to cut off the dialogue. Any suggestions?

Hello,I am using CP9 and am having problems keeping the tabbing function within the CP slide.  It wants to jump to the URL Address box, PlayBar, etc.I have a Text Entry field where the learner enters text and then needs to tab to the next field.  This is how the real system works.  The tabbing does everything but what I want it to do. I've checked, "Restrict keyboard tabbing to slide items only"I've checked and unchecked (tried both) Seamless tabbing during publishingNothing works.  I am publishing HTML5.  I do not want to publish my demo SWF.I've researched all the previous posts and it seems like there is no solution for HTML5 published demos.   Is this a CP9 limitation that has no solution?  Is CP17 better?Any assistance you could offer would be absolutely wonderful!
