I'm using a MacBook running 10.12.4 and when I try and open a file downloaded from my local library I get the following error message:Unable to DownloadError getting License. License Server Communication Problem:E_ACT_NOT_READYI've contacted technical support at the library who tell me its a security issue but give me no further clues or how to fix it.  Ive tried ADE versions 3 and 4.54, both fail.Any one have an answer?Thanks

I have a textbook I want to do questions from, and want to stop having to scroll through 30 pages to see the answer after every question. Is there a way to open two copies of the ebook in two windows? Or to have two windows of the book at different pages? Thanks!Scott

My problem ist, I have old books in my account. Here are books which I borrowed and returned to the library. I deleted it in windows in all folders of digital editions. But now I saw the old books also on my notebook. What can I do ?

When i transfer a book from my library(pretnumerique.ca) to my Bluefire reader, on my ipad air, i read transfer done but the book is not there!

New...I have an HP Notebook Windows 10, 64 bit computer and I am having trouble downloading the same things or similar.  Adobe Digital Editions 4.5.4 will open and freeze.  I have articles stored there fine but I am having trouble repeating or updating.

how can I activate my new kobo to link with adobe digital editions?

I have seen all the discussions on here about exiting out of ADE and deleting the file from my nook. I have done this well over 10 times. My computer is authorized but no authorization method pops up when I plug in my nook. When I click on the settings option above my nook device it will not allow me to click on the "authorize device" options. I have been crying out of frustration over this for 2 hours now. Please help.

I have successfully borrowed eBooks from my local library several times before. However, something has recently stopped working.I am using ADE and everything is authorized with the same Adobe ID. When I download a book, it opens no problem in ADE. However, when I transfer the book to my Kobo, I get the DRM error/no permission to open book on my Kobo. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling ADE. I have tried going back to version 3.0, then back to 4.5 I have factory reset my Kobo. I have deauthorized and reauthorized (both the device itself and the program) several times. I have tried signing out of my Kobo account and then re-signing in and re-syncing my Kobo account. I have done all sorts of combinations of those listed actions, and I have done them all several times. Still, the book will successfully download to and open in ADE, but will not open on the Kobo. Hello, I am trying to deactivate the authorization of my current edition of adobe digital reader on my computer as i have a new email address and a new adobe digital editions account.  my computer still recognizes the old account iwth the old email address.  when i attempt to deactivate this authorization i have to enter a "vendor login ID" and i have no idea what that is.  the library i am a member of has no idea either.  i cannot erase the authorization and cannot open books on my nook as it has the old email account.  what i need is a vendor login ID- what is that and how do i get it????

I have been trying to authorize my new Macbook Pro 2011 for weeks. (I set up and authorized my iPhone with no problem.) Whenever I try to authorize my computer using the Digital Editions instructions given at the bottom of this post, I get the message: Activation Server error - code E_AUTH_NOT_READYDigital Editions encounter an error on the activation server.I've read all the forums and tried everything. To deal with this problem, the answers in the forums say to deauthorize my computer and the reauthorize it but, no matter what I do, I cannot get it to deauthorize. i have tried opening ADE and hitting Command+Shift+D--using command because I have a mac--(tried this in library view and in reader view) but nothing happens. This is different from so many others who have solved this problem using Command+Shift+D. When I hit Command+Shift+D, nothing happens at all. I get no screen so I cannot hit Erase Authorization. I don't know how to get rid of the authorization that must exist somewher

Hi, I just had a new computer and I tried to download a book that I had for a couple of months on this new computer. Every time I do that, I get a message that says that I can't download it because it fails with the connection between the servers and the licence. What should I do ? Thanks, sorry for my bad english

Hardly know where to start.  I got a new computer. Ever since I can not get ADE to instal a book.  I have a Mac OS 10.12.3 and ADE 4.5.4.  My account does not show ADE. 

I have over 100 purchased DRM eBooks I cannot read because Adobe Digital Editions refuses to 'Authorize' my device (a Kobo Aura One). The problem has arisen because the device has had to be reset 3 times in 10 days owing to a software glitch.Somebody please help, I'm losing the will to live, LOL.Claire

like the ttitle said i was reading a E-book on adobe digital edition 3.0 and suddenly i'm back at page one and all my markings and bookmarks are gone how do i get it all back this is a study book i was marking all the important things, i'm on a deadline don't tell me i have to start all over again

Hi,I have a Kobo and I am use Overdrive to download my books to my device.  I have been doing this for months with no issues but today I am getting this message.  I only have the one PC and I did ask them to check to see that my authorization limit for the number of devices had not been exceeded and it was reset.  However, the issue is still not resolved.  How can I get rid of this error message in order to copy my books to my Kobo.

I've completed steps 1-3 yet book does not appear in bluefire reader library.

I am trying to borrow an ebook from the library. When I download the book Digital editions gives me the message "Error! Check activation". I checked - It was correct. I tried to erase authorization but got the message "Unable to erase authorization Please try after some time" I tried many times. Then I unistalled and reinstalled Digital Editions. I am getting exactly the same problems and error messages. Please help. I am very frustrated.

When I open ADE, the normal icon appears and seems to be activated, but the window doesn't open on my desktop lately. With ALT+TAB the icon appears as if the window were open, but it isn't shown, no matter what I do. I deinstalled ADE 4 and installed new ADE 4.5, but the error doesn't disappear. I am using Windows 10. Please help me.

I can't open ADE 4.5 even though it has downloaded. I have windows 10 but the program was working 2 days ago then shut down so I uninstalled it then reinstalled it multiple times and it still wont work. Help I need this to transfer books to my kobo with ease.

E book not showing on left hand side of ADE so cannot download books how do I fix

When downloading an e-book from city library using epub, it goes directly to adobe Acrobat reader instead of going to adobe digital edition. What can I do to solve this problem?[Title shortened for clarity by moderator]
