Digital Editions

I have used ADE to transfer library books to my kobo for years but ADE went through a phase of constantly freezing when I tried to move a book over to my kobo. I uninstalled it and now I'm trying to reinstall it but it is not working. I have an icon on my desktop and can access books in my account but it does not allow me to borrow library books. It keeps asking me to allow the program to make changes on my computer and constantly goes through the installation process. The 'chat' experts have checked my ID/activation? and it's all OK. Over the past few months I have trawled through many forum posts and found lots people with the same problem as me but no solutions yet. I have used explorer and chrome, uninstalled my security, uninstalled the program etc.

It has a slow startup, but is tolerable.  

I wanted to know how can I download Adobe digital editions for windows 10 on my PC so I can open my google play book.  Thank you.

I have downloaded a .mobi file of a book.  Adobe Digital Editions will not accept it into the library.  Anyone have a solution to this problen, I will appreciate your help.

When I try to download a library book into my ADE, I get this message- 10 Error  Error#2038.  Does anyone know what that means and what can be done to fix it?

Hello, Adobe!When will you release an API for third-party developers to access the content network? This is a particular problem with the under-developed and completely un-supported Digital Editions, but I imaging it's problematic for the other programs as well.

I really hope somebody can help! I've been struggling with this issue for months now, and I finally end up here asking for help...Problem: I have a Linux system (Suse) and I'm very happy with it, except for one thing: ADE quit working on Linux (under Wine). Well, version 1.7 worked just fine but Adobe decided that it should be updated, so now every time I start ADE, it says it has an update and asks if I want to update, or if I want to do this later and thus for now quit the application.Downloading and installing a newer version is, unfortunately, not possible since more recent versions are not working under Wine! At least, this is my experience and also what I read online everywhere. I tried versions 2 & 3 & 4, none is working. This is what I get to see: "Adobe Digital Editions (version) requires Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 / 4.0 (depending on version) Service Pack 1. Please install and try again." Of course, I can't download a service pack for Windows on my Linux system.So,

Hey guys,I got some files from my library as acsm files. How can I open them with a normal Linux system? Looks like Adobe supports only Windows and MacOS officially. Are there any solutions or even hacks (an online service or a "hacker tool" or so converting these files would be also ok, the only solution not being ok is "Get a Windows").Regards,The Linux Guy

I tried using digital editions 4 but it wanted to open it in acrobat reader so I uninstalled acrobat reader no joy. so I uninstalled digit editions 4 and tried 3 but it is still not working . I am using windows 10. Can someone help me please

In the past i was able to use dictation on my computer and then it made me install something and the dictation stopped working. HELP

I have been able to download an Epub book from my library onto Digital Editions on my Windows 10 PC. I then drop and drag it to the Files folder on my NookGlow. When I go to open it on the Nook, I get the message "Book is not activated for current ADE user". My Nook and computer are both activated to the same ADE ID. Barnes and Noble say its an Adobe issue. Any help is appreciated!

I downloaded Adobe Digital Editions 3.0 and authorized my computer without an ID to open my ebook. It worked fine but I wanted to open it on another computer as well but I couldn't. So I de-authorized my computer and tried to authorize again with an ID. Now I can't open my ebook on of any my computers. Not even the one I originally started with. Please help.

I bought several times the same ebook so I could tranfer it on 40 devices for all my students but the program dont reconize the difference and keep telling me I have  already transfer it too many times even though i haven't because it is a new and different file.What can I do to solve this problem? Because I realy need to be the one making the transfer for the kids and I already spent my money on those ebooks.Please help me!

Hello I am trying to download Adobe Digital Editions to access a textbook I bought online.  I can download the program but it won't authorize my computer.  It takes 30 min for it to say Authorizing and then an error message appears saying that is unable to connect to be authorized.

I downloaded Adobe digital edition for my e-book studying.But when i activate my computer, i made a mistake.I had to choose campus e-book store as the eBook Vendor, but i did not choose that.So i cannot open my e-book. I want to deactivate my computer, but there is no button to deactivate. What should i do?

My version of the Official Guide for GMAT 2017 Edition is painfully slow - whenever I enter a new page number, it takes about one full minute to load. I'm on a MacBook Pro running El Capitan. This is really irritating, since I paid for a useless book, and what's more irritating is that there's effectively no way to seek recompense other than this forum. At least Amazon will talk to you - should I just buy the Kindle version?

I am new to Adobe Digital Editions.  I just loaded several ebooks.  I noticed that one of the book titles was wrong.  I cannot seem to find the way to edit a book's title.  What am I doing wrong?  I would think this to be so simple, but I'm at a loss as to what to do.  Can anyone help me?

I am unable to deauthorize ADE on a computer running Windows 10 Home. I get an error message that instructs me to try later.  I searched the forum and found this was answered but could not follow the instructions since Windows 10 has no "Start" menu - just "restart" and "shut down".

I am unable to download library books onto my nook. This has been a huge issue for months with Nook and Adobe passing the blame back and forth. My computer is authorized without an ID in order for me to download books it must be authorized with an ID. When attempting to authorize my computer with an ID I am informed I have too many devices on the account, this is not true, I need my account reset please.  Apparently after installing and uninstalling  nook and adobe as instructed numerous times my account now has too many devices even though it was the SAME nook being installed. Who is in charge of resetting this and how do I get this resolved?

Hi,I know that this is an old topic and that the my provider can reset my activation but they refuse to as they state the cost is to high and want me to buy the book again. The background is that I bought a book and did not know that I had to activate it through Adobe Digital Edition. So when windows suggested a software I used that and that did not work. So I found the instructions hidden in customer service and installed Digital Edition. Unfortunately, the activation is not working as the "windows" software must have assigned some kind of ID to the book that I am not aware of and state that the book is already activated.So my question is, what are the costs that Adobe charge to reset the activation. If I know that I can talk to my provider again and hopefully make them unlock it. Thx,David

Issue     When you launch Adobe Digital Editions, you are asked to authorize the product. Then, the error E_ACT_TOO_MANY_ACTIVATIONS is displayed, indicating that all the authorizations allowed for Adobe Digital Editions on that machine have been used.Sometimes, you don't receive the error, but run out of activations after switching machines or replacing hardware.  Solution     If you received the error E_ACT_TOO_MANY_ACTIVATIONS, or run out of activations, contact us to have the activation count resetAgain I followed this contact us link and was taken to text chat.
