hello, i just purchased and downloaded an e-book from Wiley Publishers, but when i try opening it on ADE (v.4.5 for Mac), i get an error message saying: "Error getting License. License Server Communication Problem: E_ACT_NOT_READY". please help!!many thanks, subu

I have successfully installed ADE and downloaded my first ebooks from my library. I downloaded some more books, but now when I try to open the .ascm files with ADE, I get the following error:"Unable to downloadError getting license. License Server Communication Problem:E_AUTH_BAD_DEVICE_KEY_OR_PKCS12"Need help resolving this error on a Windows system. A search of the internet found a solution for a similar issue on Macs and Keychain, but I have not found any Windows solutions.System details:Adobe Digital Editions v2.0.67532 Windows 7 Home Premium SP1

I have a new computer (MacBook Pro running macOS 10.12.2) and am trying to activate ADE 4.5. I get the following error:An Error Has Been Detected - Activation Server error - code E_ADEPT_INTERNAL Digital Editions encounter [sic] an error on the activation server. To retry, click the Try Again button.I have tried the steps in the article about this error Error "E_ADEPT_INTERNAL" | Download protected e-book | Digital Editions I have confirmed that my library does allow axisReader to activate/authorize with Adobe Digital Editions.Please let me know why this isn't working, and what can be done. Activating/authorizing using axisReader was working on my old laptop at some point in the past.

When i download from local library it goes to wordpad with no option to download to NookHave not had this problem in past  HELP

I have an adobe ID which works fine to login to my profile on ADOBE.COM. But I cannot use this to register my ADE to download epub books.Adobe support chat told methe account isn't associated with ADEthe account is having some problemsto generate a second account with same email address (which is impossible)the email address for the purchase and the adobe ID have to match, but could explain whyhas send me to this forumhas wasted my timeSo anybody an idea how I can get me book?

I have a WIN 7 prof 64 bit. I installed ADE 4.5, installation run withoeut problem, system shows the program symbols.When I start ADE there is onlay an activity sign wich disappears after some seconds. Then I erased the ADE 4.5,cleaned the registry, started new and installed ADE 3.0. The program call ended with -program has problems to start-What can I do ?SincerelyWolfgang

I have just downloaded the latest version of digital editions and it won’t let me open any book I get an check activation error message.I am trying to de-authorise the product so that I can authorise again but it won’t accept my password. I know my password works as I can log into my online account with it

First of the month I was able to download books from the library. How ever last week when I went to download I received the following msg: "Error getting License. License Server Communication Problem: E_ACT_NOT_READY" (I still receive this msg) Second, when I was looking at the help area I noticed that the computer is registered as "ronandjerri@yahoo.com" (this email is no longer active). I thought this might be the problem, so I thought I would erase authorization and re-register under "topgallant1. But I cannot do that in that I no longer have the password for yahoo. What is my solution to problem? I have books ready to download.  Ron

We changed our Adobe ID and password on our desktop.When we went to do the same on our laptop the default email address in the de authorization dialogue box defaulted to our old email address.It prompted me for our password which I entered but it continuously said that my password was incorrect.Help. Auf meinem MacBook Pro kann ich einige meiner e-books nicht öffnen, Adobe Digital Editon 4.0 schließt mit "unerwartet beendet". Die Firma, bei der ich die e-books gekauft hab, kann mir nicht weiterhelfen. Neues herunterladen dieser e-books bringt auch nichts.

I'm currently connected but wonder if I have to stay connected to continue to access the content I've downloaded?

From my local library I have downloaded epub books which download as PDF .acsm.  I then transfer them to Digital Editions and they become PDF epub but when I then transfer those to my Kobo they remain as PDF epub and I cannot open them in my Kobo.  Beleive they should be as PDF .acsm.  Can someone please help

Getting error message: unable to download. Error getting license. License server communication problem. Adobe Digital Editions is not letting me authorise using my Adobe login, telling me I cannot use the login if it has been used on a previous device.Furthermore, it is not allowing me to read books from Overdrive I have borrowed from my local library, and transfer them to my Kobo eReader. I had NONE of these problems as of yesterday, and trying to solve them has made them worse.I have tried ALL solutions I have found online, and have contacted Adobe and Kobo. Adobe advised me to post this on the forum.

This program worked fine for years until last week.  Now when I try to download an e-pub book, the program just locks up.  No errors, just doesn't respond.  I can still read my already downloaded books. But I can't download any other books. I have tried the registry re-authorization.  Nothing changed.

Hi,At the time of authorization of my computer, ADE asked to select an ebook vender first. But I could not find in the list the vender, Que Publishing, from which I bought an ebook a few weeks ago.I have contacted the vender about this problem as well as the E_LIC_ALREADY_FULFILLED_BY_ANOTHER_USER error (this could be solved) but they only told me to ask these questions to Adobe. What shall I do to solve this problem?

Possibly 2 separate issues, but maybe related (and i realize there are similar posts and i have read them and tried solutions where provided to no avail)ADE 4.5 doesn't recognize Nook HD+ attached via USB, Laptop (Windows 10) File Explorer does...so i know USB connection is okay.  ADE is authorized on laptop.  I have tried to copy books onto the Nook HD+ by copying to the device from file explorer, but then i get "token not found" when i try to launch them.  i have tried every version of ADE...2.0, 3.0, 4.5 with same result.  i have also downloaded several different books, with the same result.  following other support forums, i have deleted the ADE folder on the Nook.  when i try to launch the book, a logon window pops up, i input my Adobe logon / password and the ADE folder is re-created on the Nook.  after this process, attempts to re-launch the book result in "token not found" .wondering if the Nook HD+ is no longer a supported device? 

All attempts to borrow books from the Internet Archive's Open Library fail with the message E_ACT_NOT_READY.Adobe Digital Editions 4.5.3.162045Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11.6I know my username and password are correct because I was able to use them to log on to Adobe and change my password.I know the book is in the Open Library and present on their server because I can read it in their web-based onscreen page viewer.I installed Digital Editions a long time ago, have rarely used it, just updated it to 4.5.3.162045, but believe it is installed and that my computer is properly authorized because I am able to read the handful of items it contains.It is not a problem with this particular title because I have now tried several different titles and they all fail the same way. The same error occurs regardless of whether I choose the "PDF" or "ePub" download options.

I have activated the nook and still get the error " no token found".  I have tried several suggestions found on the web.  nothing works. 

I'm just hoping Adobe hears my little voice that it is NOT ON that ADE doesn't recognise my device. Its a really common device and I have two other reader software options that DO work with my device, but ADE doesnt. Not happy!
