Dreamweaver

Is there any way to select an element in the html editor (either an html element like a div, or an id or class) and have the program add an empty css rule to an attached external css file? I can select elements using the "breadcrumbs" at the bottom of the editor window and they show in the Properties window, but there's no option to "create a rule for this [class or id or element] in my attached stylesheet." I've seen instructions in the official help to open the "CSS Styles" window, but I have no option for a window of that name, only the "CSS Designer" window, which does not have any such functionality. It seems like this would be useful instead of having to manually type all the selectors I want into my css file, but I can't figure out how to do it if it's even possible. This is Dreamweaver 20.1 on Windows 10.

Hi all, I am struggling to find a style in bootstrap css so I can override it. Could somebody please let me know what I need to look for, pleasse? It's in the navbar where it has sub or child dropdown nav items, and it's when you click on the child item to move to another page it's background changes colour, on click but not released the click. Basically, it has a blue background which doesn't go with the rest of the site's colour scheme, and it's annoying me:  Thanks in advance.

I hope someone can help me. I've been testing the Dreamweaver Cloud app and have lost my images on my index page. Can someone help walk me through what I'm doing wrong? When I imported my Site from DWCS5.5, I got the Site info sorted with GoDaddy. I was able to publish one page a the time successfully and thought that was good. I made some changes to my index page, and it's all gone wonky! My url is Cindysbakingangels.net. I appreciate any help! Thank you!

I wrote my website (www.cavediveflorida.com) in 2005 using Dreamweaver 4.0 and have maintained it with that version using a machine with Windows 7. It was not running very well, which is no surprise. Now I have a Windows 10 machine and I am looking to use the latest version of Dreamweaver. Looking for opinions about whether or not this new Dreamweaver can seamlessly integrate with the code from Dreamweaver 4.0. and allow me to continue maintaining/editing my website? Any help appreciated.

Hello, all, I'm in the process of writing something to add to an existing project.  The ability for a user to include up to five email addresses to CC an attachment to said addresses.  I've got the validation working as I want it.  Now, just for giggles, I'd like to have the ability to highlight what part of a malformed email address didn't match the email mask. I've seen examples where, in a string search, the entered word would be highlighted in other words.  For example:  A list of words like, "car", "escape", "abracadabra", and someone enters "ca", then it would appear like:carescapeabracadabra But I wonder if RegEx can be used to highlight what failed validation of an email address? V/r, ^ _ ^

I'm trying out the trial version of Dreamweaver Cloud and want to make sure that it is compatible with APPLE Catalina OS. Are there any problems? I'm on High Sierra now and contemplating upgrading. I appreciate your feedback. Thank you.

I'm usind id anchors for internal links, but when clicked they do not land at the beginning of an article, but lands someplace below the headline in the middle of the story. Is there a way to assure where the link will go to?

Hi all, I hope ye can help, I help run a website and I have built a dreamweaver template to create pages from. All these pages work 100% localy when I test them (open in brwoser) but when I Put them to the remote server these links break e.g.xyz.com/page/contact.html = correct addressBut when I visit the page online it give me a 404 & the address is:xyz.com/pages/pages/contact.html Other pages not created from the template work 100%Hope ye can help,Pat

I went to Peachpit Press. I entered the ISPN number. It didn't work. I rechecked and retyped at least 3 times. It is a brand new book. Still no luck. I contacted support. They wrote back that I needed to send a proof of purchase. I sent the Amazon order number and link. They seemed to be satisfied with that and said they had moved my case up to the next level.  I have given up waiting on them. I can go through the book and benefit from it without the files but I would rather have them. Where would people who bought the book used go to get files? The unofficial page? I certainly cannot be the only person who had this problem.

Just downloaded Dreamweaver 2020 as part of Creative Cloud. On a MacBook running 10.15.3. Using ClamX virus scanning. Any insight into why it won't load. As per previous comments, the icon bounces, then stops bouncing. Then I get this:

I know how to strip links from a single page with the find/replace command.But I want to remove the <strong> tag from all my pages sitewide in one hit, rather than going through each page.Is there a way of doing this with find/replace ? Clean up html command menu only appears when I have a single page open, so that doesnt work. ThanksPhillip

I think I have the same problem. I upload a file, check it online on my desktop and it shows the changes I made. But on my phone or on my laptop it doesn't show the changes (immediately). Only after 30 min to one hour later, the change appear. It's driving me crazy for some time now. I contacted my hosting company but they don't have a clue.I uploaded the file with Filezilla, same effect. As if there are two versions of the same: one on my desktop (the most recent version of a page) one on all the other devices (page without changes, they appear with delay...). Weird thing is, if I download the adjusted file on my laptop (which I made on my desktop) it shows the most recent version in Dreamweaver, but not in my browser from the server... arghhhhhh Refreshing doesn't help, neither clearing the cache...and it's the same in other browsers. I have no more inspiration... :-(((((

I need help activating Dreamweaver CS3. I entered the serial number and it said "no connection" but I do have internet. It installed ok but just cannot activate it.

I made updates to my site which was originally created in Muse, I update it in Muse then upload the files to the server using Dreamweaver.  My Index page looked good when I previewed in Chrome but when I look at it online it shows only a solid color and nothing else.  I cleaned the html in Dreamweaver.  Any ideas on where to look for the problem?

I have installed CS 5.5 Web Premium on my new Windows 10 machine and it works fine in "trial" mode.  It accepts the serial number but says that is was an upgrade (correct) and asks for the serial number of the program I upgraded from.  However, it only offers me Adobe Design Standard CS5 / 5.5 or Adobe Production Studio, neither of which I own.  I upgraded from Adobe Creative Suite 3 Web Premium , which I still have and which appears in my product history on the Adobe site.  What do I do now?Phil.

I spent hours setting up an install of Dreamwever 20.1 workspaces etc. I came back the next day and Dreamweaver was in a state of resh install, all customizations gone. WTF?

Hi, I have a VM with this combination Bitnami, worpress and Google cloud platform. I am able to successfully SSH/SFTP onto the server with Filezilla with a private key, access the files and also perform update and delete actions. However I am not able to setup the SFTP connection with the private key on Dreamweaver 2020.. I keep getting an FTP error. Hi, I know, I know - it's a 16 year old piece of software however can anyone recommend a relatively simple Lightbox extension/add on that I can download use with DW MX 2004.I'm no Web Design guru and my expertise is reasonably limited. I came across the Ajatix products (via the Adobe website) and downloaded their app, however it will not install and seems broken/not functional (pic attached) and so far I have had no reply to my emails. I have an Adobe Animate file that I have converted into a OAM. file to insert in Dreamweaver. Although the animation works and plays in the Dreamweaver application, it does not show in a browser. When I open the html file in my root folder it shows but it doesn't play/work.
