With the addition of Variable Type to Illustrator, I would love to see supported in After Effects. The ability to interpolate between the many variables available would be a huge benefit in motion design, streamlining the current process and saving eons of time from the current arduous method. It would open doors to some pretty amazing things.

Variable fonts give you infinite control over different aspects of type, usually weight. Within one font file, you get every single possible weight. In Illustrator, support is already very good—simply drag the slider to watch your variable font animate on its variation axis. This needs to be implemented in AfterEffects, the usage would be extremely easy (see attached mockup). It would open up incredible possibilities for animation with variable fonts in AfterEffects! This is a groundbreaking technology with animation in mind. Please implement it where it needs to be: in AfterEffects!

I'm currently on a project that calls for animating a variable font. DrawBot is not an option, so wish this was built in to After Effects.

So many possibilities. More useful application for variable than in print if I'm honest.
