With the addition of Variable Type to Illustrator, I would love to see supported in After Effects. The ability to interpolate between the many variables available would be a huge benefit in motion design, streamlining the current process and saving eons of time from the current arduous method. It would open doors to some pretty amazing things.

    @Arle Stavchansky: Nope. That kind of data merge stuff is utterly independent of and unrelated to Variable Fonts support. Variable Fonts are an entirely different animal.

    Also worth noting that variable fonts support animation directly and some type foundries are already developing fonts with explicit progress or animation axis (as demonstrated in this video https://youtu.be/KfbhL7SMNDo?t=853), which would be incredible paired with After Effects.
