I sell a lot of puppets, but I, and many other designers, could sell ALOT more if the customer didnt have to sign up for CH to operate the puppet. Bare with me, I have a solution. Its not only the cost, but some people find using the software difficult if they are not use to PC.MAC based programs, many today are use to using simple to load and play apps. What I propose is you build an app player that could operate .puppet files. I am not saying do it for free. Sell it for $50, I can get a customer to buy the app, and you will get many more non-adobe users potentially using a new product of yours

If there were a "reader" what other applications would you like to use it in first and what for?

It's great that puppet creators can make puppets for themselves or other Adobe CC users, but one of the great pulls to other Adobe programs is that end users and customers can use the end product without the need to have the program that created them (for example, videos, photos, websites, etc., built using adobe products). Character Animator doesn't just make plain static media though, what it makes can be much more interactive!

I think it would be great for the popularity of Character Animator if there was a "light" or "reader" app which could be downloaded for free, allowing users/clients to load puppet rigs and use something akin to the stream section only of Character Animator.

Editing bells and whistles like the timeline in Record mode, Rigging, and any other actual adjustments of the puppets could be limited to Adobe Character Animator.
