Topic says it all. One more unnecessary click. How often people merge there copy-pastes. If you want include this option, put it in another shortcut combination but keep copy-paste just copy-paste.Thank you.
I'd like a feature in Lightroom that can export Collections at once.I do large photoshoots (for schools, etc), where I make a collection for each person. Then I would like to export the collections at once (so I can leave it running, while doing something else), and the exported folder structure would mimic the collection structure, eg:{export path}/{collectionname}/img_1234.jpg And the same idea for the web module, it would be time saving to export collections as different folders at once. Now I have to do it one by one, and it's a PITA for 2-300 collections. Any idea?
For example i often do these processes 1. mask -> backgroun -> reduce exposure, reduce saturation 2. mask -> select all people -> face skin -> soften skin And so on. Repeated actions those can be automated with some one click script. Would be very convenient. There is no need to make any custom adjustments for each image, these changes are made completely from the tool sidebar.
I have the need to search for images based on their pixel dimensions. For example I want to find images that have a horizontal or vertical dimension of more than 1000px. The pixels dimensions are recorded in the metadata but I cannot see a way of searching or filtering by such criteria.
So, when you stack images in LR (for instance, bracketed groups), then select individual stacks, choosing "Edit in Photoshop as Layers" performs as expected, sending the images in the stack to Photoshop as layers. However, if you select two or more stacks and then choose "Edit in Photoshop as Layers", instead of opening a photoshop file for each stack, with each image in any given stack opened as layers, LR opens a single PS file, wth the top image from each stack as a layer. For the life of me I can't understand why anyone would want this.Wouldn't it make more sense to open a Photoshop file for each stack, with each image in the stack as a layer?
I know that the iPad version does not support AI noise removal. When I sync the photo that has been checked and done for AI noise removal on desktop lightroom classic to the iPad, I can not recognize whether the photo has been applied or not on the iPad. So I would like the iPad version to be able to check the AI noise reduction status. Also the relationship with "noise reduction" which iPad originally has is unclear to iPad users as well. In the past a separate DNG file was created with AI noise removal, therefore it was much easy to understand AI noise reduction status on iPad. But now AI noise removal being added into one of normal menu on Lightroom classic, as a result I can’t recognize AI noise reduction status on iPad.
This is one thing that drives me nuts: when I import into Lightroom, there is an option to create a second copy of the photos being imported. However, the name of the folder created for that second copy follows this pattern: "Imported on Saturday, July 14, 2025". Who thought that this date format was a good idea? I have 100+ of these folders and when I'm looking for a particular folder, I have to mentally parse through them until I find the one I need because I know the rough date I'm looking for and need to find the date that was imported. Sorting the folders by the last modified date or created date is useless as well as many of the older folders inexplicably have the same date (maybe I moved them around, can't remember). Here is an example of this nonsense: How about using a format like "2020-05-13 Imported". Then the folders would at least be sorted. Who cares about the day of the week! End of rant. Thank you for your attention. 🙂
in Lightroom Classic when you Import Photos and Video if a target collection is set when I check the Add to Collection box it would be helpful to immediately highlight and put focus on the target collection. A not uncommon workflow is to create a Collection and then kickoff Import. It would make sense if a target collection is set to have the focus on it by default rather than some random collection you last imported into. I use the Scott Kelby SLIM system workflow and so before working on each project in LrC I create a Collection Set and inside collections Full Shoot, Picks, and Selects and set Full Shoot as the target collection to make it easier to pick in the tree during import. If Import selected the target collection when I picked the Add to Collection checkbox it would make this a little faster and less likely to accidently pick the wrong collection when doing the import.
Pictures used creatively may often disguise the actual size of the objects. In art that is the tool applied but in there are subjects like pictures of animals, flowers or even buildings of which the actual size may be usefull to know. Especially science, but also forensics may be served by it. Modern camera's have the object distance, focal lenght in the exif, and the camera characteristics do include the image distance + chip size, so the size calculation and visualisation of the object focussed on in Lightroom and Photoshop is an opportunity to include relatively easily. For me as a biologist, not enjoying addition of a measuring tool in the picture (and miss the living object because of that), and considering the technical data is already available in most modern camera's producing RAW files, am wondering if Adobe is supporting this idea and open to the opportunity to launch such first in photography apps land. In fact I did actually make a calculation spreadsheet to calculate
The new facial recognition in Lightroom 6/CC is well done (if sometimes amusingly quirky). One change I'd like to suggest is allowing the Named People thumbnail photo to be chosen from the list of confirmed thumbnails. Lr sometimes picks an unflattering image or one of very low quality. When I see a list of faces in the Named People list I want to see nice looking mugshots. We don't all shoot fashion models!
We have been adapting to the suggested workflow. To better help us follow the order I suggest to switch positions of the Crop and Remove Icons. Since you suggest to use Remove first it would be helpful. Also flip these in the Remove tool because you suggest to do Distraction Removal first. Thanks
This is perhaps more of an oversight than a bug. Currently when shooting tethered the "same as previous" also carries over the automatically selected lens profile. This means that if you change lenses during the shoot all the new photos will have the wrong lens profile applied. While it's easy to rectify later, this really seems like it shouldn't be the case. At the very minimum there should be the option to select "ignore previous lens profile" or something similar.
Update 6/23/2024: LR 13.2 broke the mechanism for disabling the use of the GPU by AI commands:https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-ideas/p-allow-users-to-disable-the-gpu-for-ai-masking/idc-p/14698393#M22221 Update 10/14/2023: LR 13 (finally) provides a mechanism for disabling the use of the GPU for AI masking commands:https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-ideas/p-allow-users-to-disable-the-gpu-for-ai-masking/idc-p/14158013#M20035 The AI masking commands should obey the setting of Preferences > Performance > Use Graphics Processor, allowing users to disable its use. That will let users on older, incompatible hardware continue to use AI masking (*), and it will greatly accelerate troubleshooting when users have incompatible GPUs or out-of-date drivers. In my quickie testing on Windows, these commands take 1-2 seconds with a GPU and 5-10 seconds without (so still quite useable). (+) Both the CoreML library (Mac) and the ONNX Runtime (Windows) al
I am looking for a way to create a custom crop overlay. The few that Lightroom offer don't work when trying to do consistant head sizing in the program.
I would love to get an option to let LR automatically delete images from the card after they have been successfully imported. Images on the card that have not been imported, are let alone, of course. It would serve two purposes for me: 1. It would save me deleting the images manually. 2. It would dramatically improve the experience of importing images from one card into different catalogs. An incremental import of subsets of images on one card into a single catalog (but e.g., different folders) is well supported by the "New Photos" filter in the import dialog. However, when I switch catalogs while downloading images from a card -- because some subset of images on the card needs to go into a different catalog -- the "New Photos" filter no longer works. As a result, I have to remember and wade through a lot of images I already imported into a different catalog. I realise that deleting images from the card is a sensitive issue. It must not happen prior to having verified that the image in
I would find it very helpful if I could add keywords to the grid paintbrush by shift clicking the keywords and the keyword lists It would speed up keywording keywording events with multiple spoadic subjects
Often when creating a new catalog, this is overlooked and settings are not saved.
I'd love to be able to add a white border while I edit in develop mode, as many times that is how I display my images. it would help to visualize the image in its final form better. Thx!
Dear Lightroom Team, I would like to request a feature that would make working with photo stacks much more efficient. Example:In my workflow, I have a panorama stack in the collection path:Travel → Destination → RAW After I stack the panorama (group) and perform color correction, I want to move the entire group of 9 photos to a new collection:Travel → Destination → Edited Currently, Lightroom only allows moving photos individually, which breaks the stack. This means that if I have a panorama stack or any group of images, I have to manually move each photo, then restack them in the new collection. Suggested Improvement:It would be very helpful to have the option to move the entire stack as one unit between collections—without breaking it. For example, pressing CTRL (or CMD) + mouse drag could move the full stack instead of just individual files. This would be useful not only for panoramas, but also when returning edited images from Photoshop back into Lightroom Classic (which often crea
Olivier
Since LRC is pretty good at finding and marking (visualising) spots, especially when looking at a clear sky, it should be a no-brainer to select those spots automatically. It could be a feature to use in the Healing panel where you could review and remove the ones you do not want to be erased manually afterwards. A kind of "detect spots automatically"-functionality only marking them just as you would do manually. This feature could remove some heavy lifting if you are faced with an image that accidentally happens to have a lot of spots. In the background, increasing dehazing could help LRC identify the areas so that the outline becomes clearer to recognise and then mark afterwards. When looking at a reasonably clear sky, you can see them clearly and want to remove them, so having LRC do most of the work for you would be a huge plus.
You cannot directly apply star ratings to photos within the Lightroom import dialog. While the import dialog allows for various settings like file renaming, metadata adjustments, and destination folder selection, it doesn't offer a direct way to apply star ratings at the time of import. BUT I think this would be helpful.
Request for change: In Masking, add the capability to flatten a complex mask. For example; Create a Mask, make several Adds, maybe a few Subtractions, what the heck an Intersection, Now I want to simplify that from a bunch of components into one, I have no fear of wanting to undo this. Flatten the combined mask into one. Another example' I create a subject mask, I make additions, I want to invert but I am too lazy to start over, Flatten the mask into one, now it will invert properly. the whole mask, not just one component (yes, creating the initial subject mask, then inverting, then adding etc would be better, but...) By the way, could this save some memory, some hard drive space?
