macOS has an OS-level mechanism that uses an app’s bundle ID to determine which app is launched by default. One example of such an ID is com.adobe.Photoshop.By default, the OS uses the latest installed version as the default app. In Finder’s Get Info panel, users can also select an app at a different installation path to open their files, even if it shares the same bundle ID.However, this Finder setting often reverts to the latest version when a new version is installed. This causes a problem with the standard release and beta versions of Photoshop. Both use the same bundle ID, com.adobe.photoshop. As a result, even if I use the standard release for my work, installing the beta can cause files opened in Finder to launch the beta instead.Illustrator uses different bundle IDs for its standard release, beta, and prerelease versions, so it does not have this problem. For example, Illustrator Beta uses com.adobe.Illustratorbeta, while Illustrator Prerelease uses com.adobe.illustratorPreReleas
Hi Adobe Team,I have been testing the new "Relight" feature in the Photoshop Beta on professional portrait and full-body fashion photography (shot at 45 megapixels). While the interface and the preview workflow are great, the final calculated result after clicking "Done" is highly disappointing. There is a massive loss of sharpness and fine detail in critical areas like skin texture, hair, and clothing fabrics. The final output looks muddy and artificially upscaled, making it unusable for professional high-resolution delivery without extensive manual fixing (masking, high-pass filtering, etc.).Given this significant drop in image quality, charging 30 Generative Credits per final render feels completely unjustified. I understand that server time costs money, but users should not pay a premium price for a low-res AI model that destroys the native quality of our camera gear. Please consider the following improvements before moving this feature out of Beta:Increase the native resolution of t
Firefly 3 has been removed as an option in today’s beta. I would agree it’s not good for a whole lot, we find it demonstrably better with hair than Firefly 1 or Firefly Fill and Expand. Will it be removed from the release version as well? We are hoping not.
plz allowing us to point to a custom script folder in the user documents rather than in the OS disk.i would like i would like to add script in my data document drive instead in the OS drive . `D:\Users\userName\Documents\Adobe` and hell no in this dangerous place `C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2024\Presets\Scripts
📌 Message:Hello Adobe Team,I would like to suggest adding a “Sort by Date Installed” option in the Photoshop font dropdown menu.Currently, fonts are displayed alphabetically, and there is no way to quickly access newly installed fonts unless we manually search for them or mark them as favorites. For designers who frequently install and test new fonts, this becomes time-consuming and disrupts workflow.Adding a simple sorting option like: Sort by Name Sort by Recently Used Sort by Date Installed would significantly improve productivity and font management efficiency.Thank you for considering this feature request.
When you ssave to cloud documents, the old interface had preview images of all the files stored in the chosen folder. The current interface only has a list of folders, including the files, but no preview images. Especially when using “save as” the visual information provided through the preview images would prevent the wrong file being saved over.Additionally, the current cloud save dialog sometimes ignored the folder i chose and saved the file into the root directory. These changes are so invasive to workflow, that I choose to remain on a build of PS 26 that doesn’t have the changes. But this choice forces me to switch over to PS Beta (and fight with the interface) whenever I want to use a newer feature.
I am a college instructor in the art department and there needs to be a way to detect if Generative AI has been used to create an image or if we can disable that feature in the software, as my college and many other educational art programs will be prohibiting the use of AI generated work of any kind. Also, I understand that currently Photoshop Beta cannot be used for commercial use, however when it does get out of Beta, what will be done for consumers of art who do not want AI generated artwork? Will there be a watermark, or file info or something that will tell us in any file format that AI has been used? I was able to save a .psd and .jpeg file with AI generation and besides the purposely poor quality of the image on my end, nothing is showing that I used AI to create it, or is preventing me from printing the image or selling it online as an independent artist(which of course I will not be doing as I was just testing the capabilities). If these concerns are not being addressed, plea
Hello. In the new Photoshop Beta update, the way OpenEXR files open has changed, and there are now many new options. I noticed a small issue that makes work a bit less convenient. There are still options to open a file “as transparency” or “as alpha channel”, but now when choosing “as alpha channel”, Photoshop automatically adds an alpha mask to the layer. This isn’t always needed, and when loading many layers into a stack, it takes extra time to delete all those masks one by one.It would be really helpful to have an option to open EXR files “as alpha channel” without adding a mask to the layer. Also now it takes much more time to open many filesIt would also be nice to have more control over how layers are opened when loading them into a stack using scripts. Sometimes it needed to open 1 layer “as transparency” and all other “as alpha channel” Thank you
Please check http://rbaezd.myportfolio.com, as you may see I am serious about AI. I require some minor adds to Generative Image: 1. a button to swap Style with Composition. 2. A button to find in the Finder the images used in Composition or Style. And please! do not abandone this wonderful feature.3 Extend the possibility of using the references to Style and Composition “Choose the Open Image” present in the Beta version to the current version In my research with Generative Image, I don’t use text prompts. I simply enter “.” to let the AI work on its own, suggesting ideas based on my references in Style and Composition. These are then developed in layers and further refined, gradually building my own work.It is, however, a rather delicate trial-and-error process in which I use my own references as well as those of other authors. Sometimes I would like to be able to exchange the role of the images used in Composition and Style references, it would be helpful to have a button to do thisW

Hi Community!I hope u are all fine ,I am a sport designer and i work too much with clubs logo , so i suggest add a new option 'Replace' option which when clicking on it user can replace the layer with another picture from local PC with the same size as the previous , i give an exemple:I have a ready template psd file that i created for Premier League Standings and i want to change the logo of one team quickly and i have already the old logo for the old team which was in 1st place , with just clicking Replace u select the new logo for the new team in 1st rank and boom it is in the correct dimension of the old logo .. I know someone will say use Smart Object but this new object is very practical and quickly especially for Sports Designers ! Thanks
When you have Area Type inside a custom vector shape, toggling/converting to Dynamic Text turns it into a rectangular bounding box, losing the shape container. This is surprising/destructive and reads like a bug in workflow, even if it’s “by design.”Request: Let Dynamic Text work with shape-based area type containers (any closed path/shape layer) so resizing the shape reflows the text within the shape.Steps:Draw a custom shape (closed).Add Area Type inside it.Toggle/Convert Dynamic Text → becomes rectangle. Why it matters: templates/badges/social layouts need responsive text and non-rect containers.
Photoshop’s text style system is badly undermined by the lack of visual feedback around what styles and overrides are actually active. When I select text, Photoshop should clearly tell me: the current paragraph style the current character style what attributes come from each what has been manually overridden whether the selection contains mixed states Instead, the current experience often feels opaque and inconsistent. A style gets applied, some things change, some do not, and Photoshop gives very little explanation why. That makes the feature feel buggy even when it may technically be following an internal hierarchy. Please add: clearer active-style indicators visible override indicators a way to inspect effective formatting a reliable, obvious way to strip overrides and return text to the actual defined style This would make Photoshop text styling dramatically easier to trust and use.
I would like Adobe to show AI credit details directly in the generative tools. When selecting a model, users should see their current credit balance and how many credits the generation will cost before confirming. This would allow quick, informed decisions without having to check the website separately each time.
So I made this plugin with Claude; it organizes layers based on the context of the document.Currently it’s super consistent, but only works in English. I tried it on different setups/ documents and it goes 95% of the way, better than a complete mess for sure. The logic is a weighted scoring system that analyzes layer context. Eg: a layer is named “texture x” it assumes it is a texture but not confirms, then if it has a blending mode applied it scores even higher and so on.I plan on releasing the releasing the full logic on GitHub, to get people to work on it; see how it can be improved. The project overview is: HereAdobe has deeper access to layer data and could take this further, especially with AI for recognition beyond the original scoring logic.Demo here:
When opening a photo from Lightroom into Photoshop as a Smart Object, Lightroom/Camera Raw settings are embedded in the Smart Object. Please allow resetting Camera Raw settings per duplicated Smart Object layer, so one instance can remain edited while another can be reset to the true RAW/original — without duplicating files or reopening Camera Raw. This would enable clean, non-destructive comparison between edited and original RAW data inside a single Photoshop document.
In professional interior, real estate, and architectural photo editing, the most time-consuming task is correcting color casts and exposure inconsistencies on large interior surfaces.Current AI selections (Subject, Sky, Object) do not address this use case well.Requested AI masks:Select Walls (painted walls, excluding windows, doors, furniture)Select Floor (wood, tile, carpet, concrete)Select CeilingSelect Interior Surfaces (combined architectural surfaces)Use cases:Neutralizing color casts from mixed lightingMaintaining realistic but clean wall colorsFaster, more consistent batch editing

If Photoshop adds an automatic Face Detection–based Smart Crop feature, it would greatly improve the user experience by allowing fully automated cropping. This feature should automatically straighten the photo and give users multiple crop preset options, such as cropping from the head, shoulders, chest, or up to the elbows, along with a custom size option. The system should automatically detect the face and crop the image precisely according to the selected preset, while automatically selecting the appropriate ratio. Such an automatic yet customizable Smart Crop feature would significantly simplify and enhance professional photo-editing workflows.I sincerely request Adobe Photoshop to consider adding this kind of advanced Smart Crop feature.
Dear Photoshop Team,I would like to request the addition of an advanced AI Auto-Crop & Composition feature in Photoshop, similar to the functionality offered by “Retouch4me Crop.”Such a tool would be extremely useful because it could automatically:* Detect faces and main subjects* Apply perfect composition (Rule of Thirds, Headroom, Center alignment, etc.)* Maintain consistent framing and balance across a large batch of images* Correct tilt and alignment* Generate multiple aspect ratios automatically Along with automatic cropping, it would be very helpful if Photoshop also allowed us to manually choose our preferred crop ratios (such as 1:1, 4:5, 3:4, 16:9, etc.), and even select from which area the crop should start (top, bottom, center, or custom positions). With such features, many repetitive tasks in Photoshop would become fully automatic, including:* Batch cropping hundreds of images* Keeping consistent headroom in all portraits* Ensuring uniform composition in studio or w
You should make an AI image tracer. it would make it so much easeir for computer users.
A suggestion on a feature for Photoshop... The ability to easily change the "eyeball" position (with a slider or some other method) so that the subject who was not looking at the camera now appears to look directly at the camera. If Adobe does not have this feature, it would be a great addition. It would be especially great for group shots where one or more persons are not looking at the camera when the photo is taken.
This YouTube video, titled "Nano Banana and Flux Kontext Script for Photoshop" by Rob de Winter, introduces a new Photoshop script that combines two powerful AI models: Flux Kontext and Nano Banana (powered by Google Gemini 2.5 Flash).Key highlights:Gemini Flash features:"Use Foreground Color" checkbox: lets you include your Photoshop foreground color in prompts.Reference image upload (macOS only): allows guiding generation with any photo.Observed strengths:Gemini Flash excels at conversational prompting, character consistency, color accuracy, and understanding reference photos.Flux Kontext is great for relighting, blending, and maintaining atmospheric consistency in edits.Photoshop integration benefits:Sharp results on small selections.Quick ideation/sketching.Easy masking and blending of generated content with untouched details. The script download link is provided in the video description. This script helps Photoshop users enhance their workflow using advanced AI-assisted generation a
There should be a 3D Style in Photoshop’s Layer Style Options that includes features like light source, motion blur, and other 3D effects. This would allow us to apply realistic effects to text and still be able to change the text later without losing the 3D effect settings.Right now, when we apply an effect to text, we have to record or recreate it every time, and if we edit the text, the entire effect needs to be built again. If Photoshop added a 3D Style inside the Layer Style Options, it would be a major improvement.
Hello Adobe Photoshop Team,I hope you're doing well. I’d like to propose a feature that many designers (me included) would find extremely helpful:💡 Feature Idea: “Unrasterize / Text Recovery”Summary:Allow Photoshop to detect rasterized text (pixels) and convert it back into an editable text layer (with font, size, style attributes preserved as much as possible). Why it helps:Saves tons of time when working with older files or client deliverables where text was rasterized.Reduces need to manually retype and match fonts, styles, and layouts.Especially helpful for large projects, templates, and collaborative workflows. How it might work (concept):Photoshop performs a pixel-analysis scan to detect character shapes, spacing, and baseline.Offers possible font matches (using built-in “Match Font”-style machine learning).Presents a preview of detected text in editable format, which user can accept or correct.Converts the raster layer into a text layer (or layered text objects) in the ori
