I want to make HDR paintings that can be displayed on HDR TVs and Monitors but photoshop seems to only display SDR. There's no difference in the lumanence from the display of the color White +0 and the color White +1. For me HDR is one of the most important display innovations since HD and making content based around it even images would be useful. Since many image viewers support HDR color now days. I'm sure there would also be benefits for things like games which HDR textures are very useful and being able to better visually read value differences beyond +0 would be useful. I know premiere supports display HDR, so I also imagine it would be useful for making sprite/image effects for video, or animation.
Only the Content-Aware mode in the Patch Tool has the option to sample all layers. It would be useful if this were also an option in the Normal Patch Tool, to be able to source from one layer and patch to another.
JPEG is probably the most popular file format I use, saving to social media mainly and then other use online on the web. As my screen shot attests, there is more to this file format and I want to learn. For instance, the side note you see on the screen shot says that there is more to 'saving options' but I don't know how to acces this advanced saving criteria. Also, even what I have posted for a screen shot shows 'dimmed' areas that I don't know how to access even if I knew what they were for. Bottom line, I am sadly weak in my understanding of how to properly set up JPEG's for posting online, let alone for this file formats many other uses. Where can I get the wholde story on all of this file format's capabilities and control settings?
In the cursor section where you can adjust the tool settings. Make an adjustment to the brush outline circle where it can be more visible. (make it like 1-3 pt thickness)When zooming in to 200-300 percent the "circle" of the tool will essentially disappear when working with some skin tones.
The drag and drop mechanics have been frustrating me for a while so after thinking for a bit, here are some of my ideas you might consider 🙂when dragging a image to the opened projects bar or any other area where the image will create a new file, a info icon or text would be helpfull, indicating that this action will create a new projectwhen dragging to the layers panel, i would find it super usefull to have the same indicator as when rearanging layers normally so that the new image layer doesnt just get insertet randomly anywhere between your layers where it has messed up many of my clipping masks in the pastit would be great if there was a setting that allowed you to toggle between full size rastered imports and project sized smart object imports, when working on small resolution projects or with super big images (or the other way round) its frustrating having to always scale them up or down to a scale where the are at least fully visible. Maybe you could even consider implem
GIF making has become an integral part of Internet culture. In the past few years, the so called High Quality GIF has taken the format to new heights via offering .h264 or webm versions for low-bandwidth consumption.GIF genres have also exploded in this time. There are reaction GIFs, "dubbed" GIFs (dialog replaced with often humorous text), and many, many more. Many of these genres push the limits of GIF into new directions.Unfortunately Photoshop has not grown to meet the needs of these content creators. The 500 frame limit has spawned a few tutorials using Frame Animations to copy and paste frames between documents that are awkward, kuldgey, and prove that PS itself can go well beyond the arbitrary limitation.I implore you to please remove the limit or allow an experienced user to disable it.
Hello,On a smart object, we can add and keep a transformation ( Ctrl+T ) and we can reset it ( Right Click > Reset transformation ).Resetting the transformation is the only way and look if something change is (AFAIK) the only way to see if there is a transformation applied. With smart object, we can see with icons, if we have a filter/adjustment applied : Smart filters, or a layer style : Effects and of course blending options (icon). It should be interresting to have an icon (as Smart filters, Effects, and Blending options) to see if any transformation is applied to a smart object. They "keep" them, so they "have to" give that information ?
Now we have to double click to open the Layer style window, move the sliders back to their default position, click OK. That's 4-5 clicks. I suggest deleting the effect in 1 click, but the Adobe should assign a hotkey for that. For instance, Ctrl+click or Shift+click or Alt+click. Yep, we can use the Clear layer style option (just in 2 clicks).BUT if there are also some effects, it removes all of them. P.S. moderator, if you don't have the courage to admit your mistake, follow the community rules at least! There's a clear RULE: ONE request per thread. So, do not merge the topics with different requests!
Hello, As a creator of Photoshop Actions , I really appreciate if there is a Search option in ( Action & History ) Panels. This will help us to save time. I'm talking about searching in Action's Steps , Not Action's Names. I need it to be smart , After I search for a step and click on it , then I disable Search mode , it select the step I clicked on automatically . I'm saying that because I make actions which could reach 1000 steps or more to finish. Thanks
Hello,The last entry is shown at the bottom of the History panel : Latest at the Top, Newest at the Bottom. It could be nice to be able to display them in an inverted way : Latest at the bottom, Newest at the Top.Layers are displayed in this way, and having the history displayed in the same way could be nice.
Pleae bring the BB (Background Blur) option from XD to Ps. It's ridiculous all UI/UX design apps like Figma, Sketch and Lunacy have this option, but Ps (which is their grandpa!) doesn't have such a simple option! I know how to mimic this effect (by duplicating the current layer, adding blur, then masking unwanted parts of it). Ps has to have a separate panel (with one slider) for this effect. XD is a joke for UI/UX design. I had a try, but I can't work with XD. I am an old Ps user, and I can say Ps is a beast vs those kids (at UI elements design). Many thanks.
맥용 포토샵을 사용할 경우 영문 자판에서만 단축키가 가능합니다. 한글 자판에서도 단축키를 사용할 수 있도록 향후 업데이트에 반영 요청드립니다. 감사합니다.
A great time saver for me would be to have a feature in Curves that when you decide you need more control points, Photoshop would interpolate new points between the ones already set by entering a value for total points desired, up to the current limit. It could operate channel by channel. As I get more skilled at color correction I find myself often drifting towards using more control points. Having this feature should not cause any problems for those who don't need it.
I have an suggestion for an added feature to Photoshop. It would be a Selective Colour Change Brush. Much like the current Colour Replacement Tool, but with the added ability to only change the colour of the colour you first click on. Much like how the Background Eraser Tool erases the colour you first click on, this feature would change the colour to your preferred colour, instead of removing it. This could also be expaned to have a colour selection brush. Often, I find that I need to select a certain colour, and only in a defined range of the image I am working on. Rather than use the Colour Selection feature, as it is, and then have to delselect the rest, it would be handy to be able to just use a brush like tool. You'd click on the colour in the area you're focusing on, hold the mouse button down, and then move the brush around to select only that particular colour. For the type of work I do, features like these would save me a bu
The mousewheel zoom in the Liquify Tool has never been updated to use the more modern "zoom to mouse-location" style that is used in Photoshop's main window, in Google Maps, etc. Instead, the mousewheel zoom simply zooms to the center of the picture, regardless of where your mouse is aimed. This means the user must then manually drag the canvas as a follow-up step. Why? Frankly, I don't understand why this improvement hasn't been made over the past few years. This is a trivial fix (simple zoom equation) for an immediate improvement in UI consistency and for the UX of the Liquify Tool. I hope the team will consider it. #freethezoom!
When I have one file open, I sometimes want to open a file I worked on last week to see how I did something. Presently, I go to File > Open Recent and see a nice list of files I've worked on most recently. The problem is the list is text only. Would it be possible to display recent files in icon view like in a Finder Window? Just icons that help me identify the file I want.
In advanced Photoshop tutorials on hair masking the problem of the edge color is solved manually outside the Select & mask window by adding a clipped blank layer and painting on it with a darker color. Why can't you implement this into the "Decontaminate colors" option? Now it just ruins the image layer (destructive workflow), therefore we can't adjust its mask later. How it should be:
Will audio scrubbing for animators ever be added to photoshop? Seems to me if audio scrubbing is in Animate & After Effects it can't be that much of a stretch to add the function to photoshop.
Seriously, this has been being requested for nearly FOUR YEARS.
I want to reduce unnecessary key strokes when using PS.I'd like to be able to specify a default output format (.JPG for example) for the "Save a Copy" command.99.9% of the time, I'm saving as a JPG file and have to search through a long list and select it every time. If you think this will be useful, please upvote.
If the Blend if is applied to a layer, we have to double click to open the Layer style window and turn off (uncheck) the Preview to see the layer without the effect.Firstly, it's 3 clicks (at least).Secondly, the window is too big and partially overlaps the image.Thirdly, if we changed (and applied) the sliders values more than once, the unchecked Preview shows the previous state. So, if we want to see the layer without the effect, we have to move the sliders back to their default position. My suggestion is to toggle the visibility of the effect in 1 click by clicking its icon.
We’re excited to hear your ideas and look forward to seeing your new feature requests! You may ask, What can you do to increase the chances of being heard? How will the feature help your workflow?Describe why you want the feature - include the problem you're currently hitting, and how this new feature would solve that problem. Before working on a feature, the product team will need to understand how your idea fits in, and may even come up with a better way of solving your problem. One request per thread: When creating an Idea or Feature Request thread, please keep requests for features to ONE request per thread. Doing this will allow others to vote on the single, specific feature and not confuse Upvotes amongst a list of feature requests. If an Idea thread has multiple requests in it, you may be asked by a moderator to split the multiple requests up into multiple threads so others can vote. I use layer styles a lot. Especially when assembling my game assets into the final product. Unfortunatly it doesn't take too long until their usage brings Photoshop down on its knees. Moving a layer around often takes 5 seconds until the layer even starts to move. At that point you can't use the mouse to move the layer precisely any more. I can just move it into the general area and then use the cursor keys to nudge it into place- taking several seconds after each key stroke to see the movement.I've watched my task manager and it seems that only the CPU is involved in those processes. My GPU is stuck at 0% through all of that. Please do something about that. Even having a rather strong PC doesn't make a difference.
In some of the other warp preset options one can change the orientaion... top/bottom... left/right.Would love this option in Cylinder.Unlike everyone elso on the planet the products I have to mockup are not vertical in nature... cups, bottles, cans, mugs, etc. They are horizontal. Pens, pencils, shafts, handles, tubes, etc.Unless there is a work-around I have not found.Warp Cylinder is the perfect tool, just does not go the right direction.
