I'd love a better way to organize brushes, shapes, and styles. Perhaps a way to tag them, then search or sort by tag.

I would like to group and organize brushes into folders. A smarter navigation to find the desired brush would also be helpful.

This is extremely poor usability. There was ZERO information about how to manage swatches in Help topics within Photoshop. A Google search turned up information about the Preset Manager, but if you don't know you're looking for the Preset Manager (and have never heard of it) then there's no way you'd know what you were looking for. The term "Preset" means nothing to most designers and needs to made more visible and clearer.

My new request is to include this information in Photoshop's native Help files. Currently, searching for swatches in Help simply points out where to locate the swatches toolbar.

Use the Preset manager.

Photoshop NEEDS better swatch management functionality. Currently if you load swatches and need to delete the original colors, you have to drag each one -- individually -- to the trash. Photoshop should have similar functionality to Illustrator's swatch capabilities.

Items like this could really help:
- Load swatches in a separate swatch palette that allow for easy use
- Delete swatches as a selected group, rather than dragging individual swatches
- Group swatches using folders/subsets

Is there a way in cs6 2014 to alphabetize the brushes? If not there should be imo

We are doing that (and have been for a LONG time) - right here, and in our prerelease testing.

But we have to balance thousands of requests from millions of customers - there is only so much we can do at one time.

Also, you know I sometimes wish adobe could ask us what would we like to see in the next update. Ask us what would help us on our day to day workflow as artist in general. Similar to how game companies put out Beta's and let their audience test the game and tell them what they need to improve before its released. I wish photoshop could do the same. I wish we could participate along the development , WHILE its developing. I think it would not only benefit adobe , but us aswell the users.

Agreed. Its the same concept of the iphone when it introduced folders to help categorize all the many many apps on your phone. Its the same principle here with brushes. There no effective way to categorize right now.

Hello,
Recently used brush are not as useful as having the ability to categorize brushes under specific folders (like what people are describing here).
Please consider changing that as it will be one of the most useful things you can do for artists.

Yeah thats what a lot of people seem to want a better way to organize a huge collection of brushes similar to how you can organize layers. Im finding that a lot of the issues we have with photoshop that arent aimed to improve workflow other art applications do but photoshop is the best overall experience so we keep coming back. Also hello Ashby Manson! I wanted to contact you by email but I cant find a way to do that anywhere. Your work is great. Im looking to get into the animation world myself background painting and such. Still working on my cartoony side of the portfolio. (www.coreyloving.com) Anyway advice my friend?
