P: Better Preset Organization (sub-folders, tag, search)

I'd love a better way to organize brushes, shapes, and styles. Perhaps a way to tag them, then search or sort by tag.

Just save your brushes in sets, and load each set you want - the brush selector menu will list the files.

There are no tabs currently.

I'm a painter. I work in animation. I would like an easy way to switch between organized brush sets. Rather than only being able to replace or add brushes, I would like tabbed brush sets. Currently I have a huge set of brushes that I have to scroll through. I'd prefer to be able to quickly access smaller sets of brushes. Being able to organize my brushes in this way (with tabs or a drop down selector for multiple sets) would be a huge help. Every show I work on has a different basic set of brushes. When I'm freelancing on several shows, switching back and forth is a real pain.

Is there an easy way to do this currently?

WTH !!!

If one is NOT allowed to tell your opinion in this forum then shut it down.

But I guess it's the easiest way to get 100% satisfied costumers - simply eliminate all critiques !?!

We still do beta testing the same as before, there hasn't really been a change there.

atharil - I was a member of the CS4 and CS5 test team. But since then Adobe does no longer seam to use beta testers the same way anymore.

Brett N - Will you please comment on this? How does Adobe intent to conduct beta testing for the new CC releases ?

- AUCH! that hurts.... Don't leave PS - Help us maintaing it to be the best software.

Brett N - I do blieve sticking to the last version brush used from the presets would work.

for example:

I choose the "Soft Brush" from the preset. I change the size like 50 times during the usage. But in the "last used list" it only shows up once and remembers only the last size used. When I switch to the "Grass" brush this will be the next in line... regardless of how many changes I do to the brush only ON instance of it will show in the list.

However if I save a NEW brush Preset and use this - then a new instance will occur in the list!

Does this not make sense ?

I truly think it's not only your 60 students... so I'm really curious about who are the millions of users that said they loves how that work. I'm also curious how I can myself enter the beta testers so I can really disapprove things like this...
There is one thing maybe users haven't been aware of in the CC2014 since it is underexposed : we have finally a color palette that is always opened ! yay

Maybe in 10 years we will have a decent brush manager. But maybe before that I will switch on another soft because adobe will continue to not understand what we need and all the others will 🙂

Thanks for the insight. Is it just the size that we would be concerned with here, or are there any other changes we'd want to limit? Or what about only working with existing presets?

Brett N - Thank you!

I agree on how the tech ppl thinks! Change anything and it's a new thing!

But what I do believe the Photoshop users would like is the ability to get the last chosen 7 types of brushes.

I teach Photoshop every day - and I have heard NOTHING but "hmmm it does not do what I expect it to" from all my students when they use this new option.

And since the release of CC2014 that for me alone makes about 60 students whom all wonder.

Once again, I simply report users point of view....
