I'd love a better way to organize brushes, shapes, and styles. Perhaps a way to tag them, then search or sort by tag.

I have a suggestion regarding brushes. Brushes should be a organized better in a collection for specific project needs. This is especially important for artists working in a production environment. It should be organized by project, type ( trees, clouds, rocks, etc). Would be great to color label the brushes or add project icons. Brushes should be easily pulled into favorites selection. Favorites are brushes that are being used all the time and should be easily accessible in the interface. Corel Painter does something similar where you can drag the brush into a special folder or area on the interface. Brushes should be easily organized by deleting and adding too a collection. Currently brushes can only be deleted ONE brush at a time. This is time consuming and you should be able to hold down "shift" or edit by selecting multiply brushes to delete with one click. Do you think features to improve the brushes menu will be worked on in the near future?

I would like a total overhaul of the presets and pallets, specifically the Properties, Actions, Brushes and Styles. I want folders, search fields, ability to leave notes, and color coding.

I would like to see separate taps inside Photoshop for my various brushes. Would be much easier to handle than when I have 350 different brushes in one window. Just like the Brush loads in Adobe Illustrator.

Evaluation Unit - of course! Don't take me wrong, I just wrote all ideas I had on my mind for a while.

I absolutely agree. I was just giving a basic example of something really simple that would help a lot.

I like this idea but personally it should be redesigned way much more. Using just dividers is not enough as this panel is really outdated.

First, let's try with Tabs or any other Groups which will be displaying brushes. So I can move brush to various folders and jump between them on the fly (and so PS don't have to render everything every time I scroll brush panel).

Allow tagging and filtering, just like Bridge does with images (Filter panel).

Allow quickly change preview, stroke/thumbnail with buttons appearing already in the panel. Brush stroke/thumbnail preview is too small, even if it's set to large. This should be able to be scaled up down on the fly.

Also in CS6 dark theme brushes looks almost different than on bright background. Bright background for this panel might be an option but not sure...

Group brushes. Instead of making "presets" and then the presets being lumped in all together OR you having to load in your presets every time you need to switch brushes, you can create your own custom groupings of brushes. This would make it WAY easier to find the brush you need.

I feel that with the growing number of collections of glyps and autoshapes now available, and the number I myself have (thousands), and no doubt many other people, the ability to live search in the autoshapes window would be incredibly helpful and a huge time saver.

Definately need better preset library management/workflow features. Some ideas:

- \Presets\Brushes\ file folders of brushes should be reflected in the preset loader. Surely divider lines could be implemented to delineate "groups" without too much technical investment. I was surprised this doesn't already happen and have to prefix brush sets that are already organised into folders.

- Overhaul the whole brush preset system so it loads all brushes and use a "live search" to filter persistently (keeps search through closing/opening panel). So typing "gr" could provide a list of all [gr]unge brushes.

- Proper metadata from brush sets so that title, author, uri, tags, etc can be embedded for sharing/organisation.

- Soft grouping/separation of brush sets in the brush picker with brush set title as a small heading.

- Modifications to a brush should remain unless that brush is reset. This would be better as a toggle option as not everyone may like this workflow tweak. For example, it is annoying to have to create a new preset just so that one can have a brush's spacing set from 25% to 5% between brush changes. Encourages brush sets to become messy and unmanageable.

- Arbitrary folders and smart folders. I think most people understand the old sidebar that contains these.
