Why pn earth would Adobe drop this hugely successful and uniqe set of plug-ins/filters! I know a lot of people are very unhappy about this. I really hope Adobe changes its mind and comes out with an upgrade/patch to fix this problem.

It is more like if you upgrade to a shiny new electric car and you discover it doesn't have automatic locks or cup holders or an adjustable steering wheel like your last car did. It is annoying when you upgrade and lose functionality. It is annoying to have to keep old things around to compensate for missing features from the new thing. Pixelbender had the potential to be a huge new area of Ps power and flexibility with the ability for people to easily create new filters that took advantage of hardware acceleration. It would have been awesome if Adobe had developed it and integrated it further in Photoshop and other software, rather than abandoning it.

I see the the 3 replies to me have been removed. For everyone who claims they need to use pixel bender but are upset they can't use it in the newer software. It all depends how bad you want use the software. A car analogy would be someone who is upset they can't put gas in their new electric car.

If you need the plugin put the older version back on your computer, why make everything so hard. use the new photoshop for its new features. If you don't want the new version don't rent it.

...and you think that's okay? This solution above, to run both versions of PS is clearly a solution of PS users 'BENDING' to Adobe.

With all the pleading, some going back to 4 years ago, Adobe has never stepped in to make this right by making PIXEL BENDER filter front-compatible.

Upgrading to newer versions of Photoshop should NOT HAVE A CONSEQUENCE, such as losing ones favorite filter!

Shame on you Adobe, you don't even join this forum or offer help.

Look Nothing is forever, if you really need to use pixel bender keep that version of Photoshop that supported it handy just for that use. I keep CS4 installed just to use a bergdesign filter. the solution is rather simple.

I am very disappointed with Adobe by wetting our whistle using CS5 and then pulling the plug on CC.
I hope in your wisdom that you realize there are many users who liked Pixel Bender and are now frustrated with your decision. You should reconsider for your users.

So here it is, May 2015, and I'm still mourning PB. I was able to keep it running by hanging onto a legacy copy of PS, but then I carelessly upgraded my Mac to Yosemite and pffffffffft. I'm now giving serious, serious thought to setting up a legacy Mac with a legacy OS to run my legacy PS so that I can run PB. I've frisked the cosmos looking for software that does similar things and - nada.

To those who created PB, you did wonderful work.
