Why pn earth would Adobe drop this hugely successful and uniqe set of plug-ins/filters! I know a lot of people are very unhappy about this. I really hope Adobe changes its mind and comes out with an upgrade/patch to fix this problem.

I just recently down loaded ps cc. I wanted it for several reasons, one of which was the oil paint filter which I understand was in the pixelbender. I'm really disappointed because my version of ps does not even have the oil paint filter. We can't find it and we just did the update.
Where is it

I bought this,
http://www.topazlabs.com/glow
And have the Oil Paint filter in CS6.
But its not the real PixelBender of course.

But go ahead and use these till maybe someday we will get it back?

Give them a try anyway.
Here is one that I did with Oil Paint filter, took a while playing around with the controls, but not bad. Not as easy as PB could do it, but still better than nothing.

I have CS4 CS6 CC and CC2014 all on my computer. there was no reason to uninstall CS5. It you have the install DNG or disk image just reinstall CS5. If you don't have that disk image you just threw away $1000.
BTW Adobe didn't make you remove CS5 so being angry at Adobe is stupid.

I purchased CS5 from Adobe as a download. I loved PixelBender. I switched to PS CC, thinking that it would contain PixelBender. Unfortunately someone at Adobe made a decision to no longer support Pixel Bender in PSCC or PS6. I no longer have CS5 since I replaced it with PSCC. How can I get PS5 back? Sometimes I think Adobe doesn't care about their users, who have paid lots of money for the Adobe software.

I have to have the pixel bender plugin for the digital art I produce and for this reason I will not upgrade from CS5 until it is added!

Some interesting stuff here, but I am in over my head once they talk about code.

This could be promising?

This info is old, but interesting.

So Adobe probably has a clause in their employee handbooks, that says, whatever you invent here, you leave with us. So the guys would have to start afresh with new code, and give it a different name? Make an app? Im sure they would make a lot of dough if they could do that?

The people who wrote it are/were at Adobe. If you go back to the beginning of this "rant," you'll see it was developed in Adobe Labs. Adobe is the reason it no longer exists.
