P: Support scalable user interface UI for high resolution monitors

I'm using a high resolution monitor(2560x1600). As a result, all the the toolbar fonts and menu fonts are small and hard to see. I do not want to lower the screen resolution as this would defeat the purpose of this monitor.. Will the new CS6 have the ability to increase font sizes to accommidate Hi-Res monitors?

Thanks

Thank you so much for the quick response Robert. You're right, menus look ok, but buttons and menu bar don't. I have been reading about the experimental section of the preferences, but I don't see that option. I go to Edit --> Preferences --> there's no experimental features, or anything similar to that..

Only options are: general, interface, file handling, performance, cursors, transparency & gamut, units & rulers, guides, grid & slicers, plug-ins, type, 3d

Unfortunately, while the drop down menus in Photoshop respect the choice the menu bar itself doesn't, and neither do the buttons. Adobe has given us 200% in the experimental section of the preferences, rather than making the menu bar and menu have the same settings.

Right click on the desktop and select "Screen Resolution". Then click on the link that says "Make text and other items larger or smaller". You will then have 3 choices, 100%, 125% and 150%.

@1287334, what do you mean by "the default 150%"? Where do you set this?

No, the OS APIs do not work correctly -- that is why we have been working with Microsoft to fix those APIs, or at least find workarounds for them. Unfortunately that is not a quick process.

Um, no, Photoshop uses OS menus in most cases.

Chris, it is usable. I use the default 150%. Quit placing the blame on Microsoft. Adobe chose to use user-drawn menus for Photoshop instead of using the OS defined menus like Lightroom.

Again, the current Microsoft UI scaling is not usable - the OS APIs have serious problems. 200% scaling works well for the majority of high resolution displays that are 200% the resolution of more common displays (200 dpi vs 100 dpi). And it took significant work from Adobe and Microsoft to get 200% scaling to work correctly.

We are continuing to work with Microsoft on the Windows API issues so we can achieve more flexible UI scaling on Windows in the future.

Perhaps, instead you try to simply implement Microsoft's recommendation - that is 150% as the OS implements it. You keep pushing the problem back on Microsoft when the problem really is Adobe's. Once again, 100% is too small, 200% is too big .... perhaps Microsoft was right - 150% is optimum.

Yes, and we are still working with Microsoft to address the OS issues that are needed to allow more flexible UI scaling.
