P: Support scalable user interface UI for high resolution monitors

I'm using a high resolution monitor(2560x1600). As a result, all the the toolbar fonts and menu fonts are small and hard to see. I do not want to lower the screen resolution as this would defeat the purpose of this monitor.. Will the new CS6 have the ability to increase font sizes to accommidate Hi-Res monitors?

Thanks

Hi there,

I've just upgraded to Windows 10 and a new Dell UP2414Q 3840 x 2160 resolution monitor. All the icons/objects are extremely small & unreadable. Came to this site searching for a solution as I was informed by Microsoft that the issue is an Adobe problem.

Reading through all the questions & comments above, I see no solution. Some say updating to PS CC2015 works, but others disagree. Last question was a month ago with no reply from Adobe.

Can someone tell me if a solution to the problem has been enacted? Can I download an update to rectify the problem...without cost?

What about old software? I am running CS6, not that old really, get a new laptop and Photoshop and Illustrator are both crazy small. InDesign and Acrobat are perfect though!

Weirdly still, the menus that appear in Photoshop are fine, it is just the way it looks prior to choosing anything.

This hack worked for my on my macbook pro (with retina display) for photoshop. Now I just need to get the manifest data for dreamweaver and audition.

Update to PhotoShop CC 2015:

Hi Folks,

it is done! Adobe has made a nice and decent looking UI. Adobe says this is because of the change to mondo basing scripts.
Anyways, now it looks fantastic, as far as I can say from a quick view and I am happy with the new, on HDPI usable, PS CC 2015.

Thank you that you did it, even if it took a bit of a time 🙂 Maybe the programming was a lot of work too.

Just a note, Windows 10 is not an instant fix, I am using it on a Lenovo Y50 with 4k display. Photoshop is usable with the 2x patch, bridge is not. This is using the cloud, so latest versions so far as I know.

Hi folks,
A solution, indicated by a comment from Adobe, is related to a bug (or feature?) in the graphics driver. The last upgrade did something for some drivers and I simply unchecked to use the graphics card for camera raw. And this works. But still, do we all have to deal with this? And I also got a response that Br, Camera Raw Lightroom and so on relate to other user forums. How smart is that? If I buy a car and it is not working properly, do I have to go to ten different repairmen? And, to be frank, all these Apps are connected in a work-flow. And so should the developer teams think. They should (at Adobe) learn by mistakes and bring some solutions, like 200% UI experimental, to Br and Camera Raw. Better for us, and more efficient for Adobe. And, why do I have to tell then how to work smarter? (you are all right, I am a professor at a University)

Yes, that is the UI scaling preference, added in Photoshop CC 2014.

Where do we find this preference? Since when was it added? Or do you mean the 200% Experimental Function?

Photoshop CC 2014 already does work with high resolution displays on Windows. Just enable the preference to allow UI scaling.

This topic is about Photoshop, not Camera RAW (which is maintained by another team). But it does sound like you are seeing some of the video card driver bugs that the new Camera RAW update (9.0) has hit.

Hi again. As this is a serious issue and some people maybe don't get it, I uploaded some images. The middle one is camera raw where a file is opened with camera raw. The sliders are getting tiny tiny and impossible to use. In the other case (the top image), the image is opened via photoshop and by the fixes last year related to monitor resolution, this works(!). But after the last update, the histogram becomes black(!). However, this is not the case if camera raw is opened directly (but then nobody can use the software because sliders and text menus are too small). amazing!
The last one is lightroom. Dragged over two 4k monitors, this is nice! Sliders can be expanded and stretched over one (or a half) monitor and the photo over the other. This is how it should be. Two 32 inch 4k monitors. If you tried it you never go back.
